This is getting down right ridiculous. The draw was on Jan 16 and we tried to cash it in on the 17th. This is now march 19. What the hell is taking so bloody long? There's no DNA or fingerprints to process, all there is, is talking to 27-30 people.
And one more thing that burns my ass is we're losing more than $3000 a day in interest.
If those two guys don't get charged with fraud it'll be a grave injustice. Much the same way that if I go into a Walmart and grab some stuff and make a run for it. Would I not get charged with at least attempted theft?

i agree midland those trying to get in on the win that didn't play should be charged and made to pay the interest to the people who are losing the interest. maybe you should give the names of the ones who are trying to cash in that didn't play and we can then drag their names through the mud. i remember the fellows in the paper who held up the 5ers and said how they didn't play that time ..are these the fellows that are causing havoc? should be ashamed of themselves . i hope they read these posts

It's just one of the guys in the paper. Believe me, I'd love to give the names of the two that are trying to commit fraud, but I don't want to stir the pot any more than it already is.
And one of the guys is a habitual liar, so I really don't think it would bother him too much. He would just make up another pathetic lie to cover the lies he already has out there. Everyone in the shop knows about how honest he is, except for the new boss. But he's a smart dude, so I'm sure he'll catch on to this sorry excuse for a man.
So much a liar that I just found out that he changed his story AGAIN...FOR THE THIRD TIME!
I guess he's never heard of the word "Integrity".

Did anyone ever explain why the case has been handed over to the OPP to make the decision of who get the money? As far as I know the OPP enforces law and perform investigations, but ultimately it is the court that weighs the facts and decides right or wrong and dispursements of funds.

I read a similar case that took place in Georgia where some cabbies felt that they were part of a winning group. The cabbies went to the gaming commision and the money was held until after a court hearing. This took only a month. The money was then released to the ticket holders.

,God you guys are still being held up on getting your cash? this has gone past being silly this is downright cruel. if you get everyone one who really won on that and called whoever the hell is investigating the case now, and call and call they will get tired of it, and maybe they might get off their ass and do something about it .. i feel so bad for you guys. i can't see what the hold up is on this, it seems a simple matter to me! the guy from poland didn't win... the guy that was in the paper didn't win ...that leaves the 27 winners give them their flippin money!

The above story is why I never play group games. sounds greedy but the above shows why no matter how well you know people you should

A)play alone
b)if win keep your mouth shut
c)disappear for a while
d)change you address, phone and get a damn good lawyer

it has been almost three months now and i can't believe you haven't heard anything yet! because of this fiasco i will never again buy a lottery ticet it,s so ridiculous when you win and you can't get your money i heard of a lady who had won and it was 8 years befor she got her money... she had to go to court to try to get it and it still was that long befor she get her winnings . +
it,s time for whomever is inverstigating this to get off their asses and quit with the stalling it isn't that hard to figure out who won and who didn't .

OMG. My head is spinning right now. We were called to a meeting with the OLG today to "discuss" what was happening. You guys won't believe this. They announced today that the prize will be split into 32 shares. Not only did they include the two that put in claims, the also included 3 other guys that didn't even put official claims in. All they did was say during the police interview that the should be included. And that was all. They didn't even put in a claim wth the OLG. And they all took a piece of the pie. Can you believe it?
Now, heres the twist. The don't really get that money, it'll be put into an interest bearing account, and they'll have to go to court to prove they should be entitled. I would have bet my kidney that they couldn't possibly prove that. But after todays gutless announcement from the Lottery imbeciles that they don't want to rule on who's in or not, they decided to take out the 5 shares and let the courts decide on it. Instead of showing some nads and making a statement saying they won't put up with fraudulent claims, they instead chose to do a 2 1/2 month investigation, keep us in the dark with zero communication, just to tell us in the end that not only are we trying to be ripped off by two people, they threw in 3 more just for the hell of it.
I'm at a loss for words.
Now we are forced to hire a lawyer just to try and protect what's rightfully ours. But the only good thing about it is, we have the means now to fight this BS. Those other guys don't have two nickels to rub on their asses.
Can you believe it?

oh my goodness midland that is the most screwed thing i have ever heard in my lie! just goes to show you what a fu**ed system the lottery is and the old can't have a brain in their heads when this is what they do to hard woring people . this is a rip off of the worst kind. one good thing though... at least you will see some of the share you have put in and i am glad for that. you deserve that and more. fight those idiots and get what is rightfully yours

Congrats on your getting your money! I know you are p***ed that you didn't get everything and will be seeking legal council... If I can make a few suggestions

- don't get in too deep with your legal expenses (retain one or two firms to represent your group). You don't want to lose that percentage to the other guys involved and then have a legal bill to boot.

- look at the doughnut and not the hole. Enjoy the money that you do have and the freedom that it affords you!

- pay off your house... buy a toy or two... don't be too generous with family friends (they will keep coming back for more!!!)... keep as much of the principle as you can, invest it safely and securely... collect interest and use a portion of that annually to take vacations and enjoy those freedoms!

if you people are true friends,you would surely look out for each others well being,
you have more money now than you ever had before,why take it all and keep your so called"friends"in need?
settle the damn thing amongst you,even give the losers a share as long as it is known it is out of good behavior.
you gave them because you wanted to give them.
