Back to the future: HIT AND SKIP

I know that when you've discussed something before and got it over with, it usually becomes annoying to go over it all over again especially when you've moved thus far and having discovered other much more comprehensive methodologies to forecast possible winning trends. But, could someone please be kind to go back with me and put me up to speed with 'SKIP AND HIT'?

I have learned me some basic principles on profiling possible numbers but yet still in need of know-how to choose the correct numbers based on numbers statistics.

This topic has remained quite interesting to me for sometime now. Your contributions will very much be appreciated

No worries, Jamtrone1. We love to talk about lotto here.

SKIP & HIT refers to the patterns of hits and misses by a single lotto number. In my tracking I designate a HIT as "0" (since it hit zero draws ago). I then add one for each subsequent draw where the number does not hit. This can then be read as: hit one draw ago, hit 2 draws ago, etc. This is fairly standard notation started, I believe, by Gail Howard.

A certain amount of the numbers from the previous draw will repeat. In a 6/49 draw this is about 1 on average, but could be 0, 1,2 or even 3. This principle applies not only to the last draw, but equally to any prior draw. So you can expect 1 repeat, on average, from the 37th last draw as well as from the last draw. Often you can find 4-5 of your numbers from recent draws (say, last 4 or 5 draws) with the rest from higher skip numbers (skips of 11 or higher). Once in a while you will find all 6 of your numbers from the last 5 or 6 draws.

I am a bit confused but still keeping an close eye to the trends and patterns of numbers. I have actually resorted to studying than rushing to bet.

I think that it will be better for you to do a search for SKIP & HIT on this board because there are a lot of references to this, as well as in the archives.
If you want something particular, or want to know how to setup a SKIP & HIT analysis in Excel I am sure we will be able to help you.
