Thanks for the reply, Karmac. I was simply trying to understand the S7 Combo Play using your nice win as an example.

When I organize 6/49 pools, I use the biggest Combo Plays available in order to maximize any wins and eliminate checking errors. I programmed the computer mainframe to pick our numbers. We won hundreds of dollars, then I refused to accept any more payments and I was able to make our one-time $20 contribution last for all the big jackpots in that year.

Don't you find it inconvenient and error-prone to have to check 62 8-number Combos? I think most retailers will refuse to check 62 slips. Good luck!

I really don't think the third degree questioning does anything but make me wonder why I shared in the first place.

Powerball, you're right there is a bit of inconvenience checking the combos however I like it better than for instance wheeling 20-30 numbers and then the setup, photocopying, and distribution of sheets of numbers to 20 people...and of course I've found that the biggest problem is collecting pool money. This seems to be the case with pools which have been run for a long time. People become complacent. Some people see the jackpot alerts in the paper and on TV and still I have to track them down for payment. These people invaribly come up to me after the draw and ask how much we've won. My next 649 pool will be a monthly payment plan. With regards to errors I've never had a retailer check a ticket for me unless he was cashing it. I have a member of the pool who checks the sheets for winners, as do I , as well as an independant observer who loves checking lottery tickets. Seems to work OK.
So remember folks, if you are in a lottery pool of any sort pay up and pay early and your lottery captain will appreciate it.:)
