I might even wait a year haha as the Dual-Core will be released next June so that time today's strong machine should be cheap then.

The only gig I got was I was running away from a player online and I left bunch of grenades behind me...Then seconds later I read he got shreded into pieces hahaha

Brad

I am old enough, but still will play these games as long as I am capabale of hahahha

The Game makers never publish the true Min requirements to play that game...

For example DoomIII need at least 2.2 CPU and a VD card stronger than GF4 plus 1 GIG of RAM plus fast HD and of course a decent Motherboard.....

My machine is way older than that therefore I get choppy quite often and the FPS drops down a lot :(

Well the really good ones do it.... but most of them don't!

Any game that requires you to spend extra money on your machine just to be able to play it is not worth it.(period)
At least in my book!

Yea u r right about it's not worth it to spend money every 2 years to upgrade etc etc...

One other alternative is to buy Xbox and play on it...But my question to you is, can we hook up a mouse to it ? Cause I hate its console :bawl:

Never owned a console in my life, so I can't tell you!

My point is that you set a limit to what you want to spend when you upgrade a computer and never go over that limit... And a full upgrade every two years is way to soon in my book, selected upgrades maybe!

I would say that 3/4 years is a good time period! Unless some terible requirement appears that requires de upgrade!

In my case my next system will possibly be a top of the line XP with a good AGP video card... the rest we will see!

I did find on the Net a control sort of that make it possible to connect Mouse and Keyboard to XboX :agree2:

I guess Beginning of 2006 would be ideal to buy a new Comp, so that way can play Future and current games with ease...Unless of course something happens in betwen say like winning :) (Don't hold your breath).

I tracked down the time I bought my useless Comp and turned out to be Jun 2002 So it's too early to upgrade etc etc....

As for Doom III, have you bought it yet ? ID is proud of their product and why not...It's great one with too much details and surprises...One Zombie Looked dead on a chair then all of a sudden he lunges at me ( I got scared of course haha )..

Based on what I have,I am not gonna buy HL II ..

I don't like Doom games! In fact I never played Doom or Doom2.

But I am considering HL2.... in any case I will need a new computer before I can buy/play any of these!

HL II

Hey Thornc

Valve just released a clip about HL II and it look good but I think it will be much more demanding than Doom III.
So you gotta have a very powerful machine b4 playing that game.

I never liked CS anyway and I am glad Doom III doesn't have that sniper crap ..Which is cowards fighting from a distance..
Combat has to be face to face not hiding from somewhere then kill your enemies with a single shot!!

FINISHED SINGLE PLAYER

there were some tense moments where one has to use quick reaction...
The element of surprise were there to scare the hell out of you :)

However, the AI of the monsters weren't that great.

But overall it's an excellent game considering the graphics ( which I haven't seen yet due to low end machine). And considering the horror in the game, I would rate it say 90%

Multiplayer is great once you have a powerful machine..

Let's see what HL II will bring !
