another sleazy bclc lottery game - pacific(texas)hold 'em

most bars in bc are now offering a game called pacific hold'em....two dollars (and the ability to raise your hand to $10.00) gets you in the game, province-wide.....the player is issued a ticket with two cards on it (ie - jack of spades, 2 of hearts), and then plays against four players on a tv screen....best hand wins, and the bar player wins if he has a better hand than any of the 4 players on the screen....fair enough, so far.....the literature tells us that the game is played using one standard deck of cards...52 cards in a deck, take away those used by the on-screen players, and there remain 36 cards to be distributed to the rest of the players in the province......bc lottery, when contacted, assured me only one deck was being used, that their lawyers had looked at the issue fairly carefully, and, yess indeed, only one deck of standard playing cards is being used.....mmmmm....usually, when someone sits at a table and the fifth ace comes out, so does the pistol or the shotgun.....bclc are sending me their version of the rules, etc....should be interesting..... ...tree ale, from the treehouse brewing company
