I propose The 2014 6/49 Number Pickers Challenge!:party2:

Pick 14 numbers out of 49 for your local 6/49 lottery and pit your skills against other lotto players.

Rules:
1. Any lottery is eligible as long as the format is 6/49.
2. You can submit up to 14 numbers for each draw, or for each week.
3. Each main winning number in your 14 numbers will be awarded 1 point for a maximum of 6 points per draw.
4. Points will be averaged by the number of draws in a week.
5. A "week" will run from Wednesday to Tuesday.
6. The challenge will start on January 1st and run all year.
7. I will post a summary each Wednesday for the previous week.
7. Compete for fun and prizes! (OK, I might have lied about the prizes).

What do you all think?

Hi Icewynd

It will be fun so count me in. I may not part take every week but it could be interesting to see what comes up.

hiya Icewynd, that is cool.

perhaps y'all should each work out a static set of 20, just in case you do not get your weekly 20 posted, you'll still have something in the compo.

Hi Bloubul, Blitzed and Patron,

Welcome aboard! And thanks for the comments.

Bloubul, no need to participate every week if you don't have the time -- but you might want to take Blitzed' idea under consideration.

Blitzed, good idea. If people want to submit a static set instead of crafting a new set for each draw that is a choice they could make. It would certainly take the stress of having to submit numbers before the draw deadline.

Patron, I tried to keep things as simple as possible, so I am just asking for numbers rather than combinations. If you want to submit combinations that's cool, but I'm not going to make that a requirement.

Looking forward to the challenge, it should be good fun!

Good luck!

I'm used to these type of challenges, having participated in the Anselm challenge (16 numbers) many years ago and am currently in the 21 number challenge (frontloaded in order of priority) in a UK forum. They are great provided its not you doing the marking. :rolling: However a voluntier is better tan 10 pressed men I always say.
From experience in the past we found it better to insist people post their numbers for each draw because there were people out there who just post a set of numbers and dissappear never to return, not appreciating or caring about the hard work involved in scoring and providing a report after each draw. However I suspect this forum may be different, especially if the players are regular posters here. The fewer the players the easier it is to manage, especially if someone is checking against multiple lotteries . Just a thought. :)

Thanks for your advice, Frank.

Thinking it over, I tend to agree -- participants should submit a fresh set of numbers for each draw. They can be the same numbers submitted for a previous draw, if you wish, but participants will have to post before each draw indicating which numbers that they want to enter.

Good luck!

I agree with Frank, and I have complained in a previous post about people who just reap and not give back.
Contenders must announce their lotteries’ draw days before they start submit their numbers. All numbers must be a new set; it may include "SOME" of the previous submission, but not all the numbers

hiya Icewynd, I forgot about the old Usenet Newsgroups...they do a UK 6/49 challenge, but choosing 20numbers like LT.

Thanks, Blitzed!

Some good ideas there, like posting a random set of numbers for comparison purposes.

I also like the idea of selecting 20 numbers, as LT has already set a precedent for that on this board.

Good luck!

Icewynd" Would you or others have any knowledge of software or program that will print your #s on the Lotto cards. My eyes are giving out and they blur after some minutes under the lights.

Hi Madam,

That would be great wouldn't it. I always make some of my marks in the wrong space and have to start all over again!

I don't know the answer to your question, but I have taken the liberty of re-posting your query on the "Lotto Software" board so that it gets the attention that it is due.

Good Luck in the New Year!

Hi madam
Get yourself Lotto Pro, it has THE BEST printing options you can ask. If not just send them 30 empty tickets and they will provide you with the printing of your betslips. I'm using it for the past 6 years to print my stuff.

Bloubul: Have you used the program with any satisfactory results. The printing sound ideal. The only mistake s I can see is in typing up a list of numbers to be printed, but then that can happen when inking in the play slips. Will give it try with their free 15 day trial. Our play sllips have ten blocks per play slip with 49 #s.

Hi Madam,
As we mature in life so do we have to surrender some of our privileges? I’m turning 62 shortly and out of the blue I was confronted with prostate problems as well as back problems and my wife is a diabetic class 2. Yes it must be very difficult to have problems with your eye site, we have some friends that also suffer with eye site problems but we refuse to treat them as “Blind” persons, we go on outings in nature and they must bring their part, and they love it to be “PERSONS”. Back to your question. Lotto Pro is the best printing software I have found. I’m staying in South Africa and all I did was to send them 30 empty lotto tickets and the name of the printer that I’ll be using, and within three days they send me an email to tell me to download my ticket printing for RSA.
I do not use it for predictions, solely for printing.

Find me on blitzed’s site under spreadsheets and I will help you with an excel spreadsheet to transfer it to Lotto Pro. No more typo errors. Tickets any number, no more mess.
