Well, looks like Frank and Nip have joined the party.

Regards,
George:)
May be $2 is the reason for "vacations".
May be we need another strategy to go on playing this lotto. As we have to play half of the lines we played before, and as 2+b gives $5, may be the target now is to win a lot of 2+b.
I will target Lotto Designer for these parameters: 3if7 and L>1. I'll see if L=3 or 4 gives less lines than 3if6.

Another thing I'd like to know George is the amounting of money the House paid in June for 5th prize and 2+b prize. As players are playing half of lines, is that the amount of money of these prizes have been less than the fifth prize before June? If so, the House is making a lot of money. :agree:

Frank, here are some figures:
May 2004 ...9 Draws
$12,309,160.00 paid out for 3# wins(5th prize)

June 2004...9 Draws
$16,783,570.00 paid out for 3# wins

Thanks Karnac :agree2:
There's something I don't understand. If the amount of money played didn't grow up (in June) and we concluded that players bet half of the May lines, why there had been more 5th prizes in June? A fifth prize went on paying $10 as in May.

Something doesn't fit well here, isn't it? :dizzy: :dizzy: :dizzy:

Frank there are two explanations for the discrepancy
1. There were 2 bonus draws of 17 and 25 million which may account for the increase of the 5th prize

or

2. I screwed up the addition.:D

May's Jackpot total was 35 million
June's Jackpot total was 94.5 million

The larger the Jackpot the more people play, and the more people play the more 5th prize winners.

I see Karnac. The best way to compare, I think, is to use number of saled tickets. Is that in June there has been more saled tickets? than in May? if there has been saled more tickets in June (by a good difference), I agree: there's no discrepancy. If you have such data I'd like to know it.

Here you go Frank:

May 2004 Total sales...$115,781,383=115,781,383 Tickets Sold

June 2004 Total sales...$192,010,830/2.00=96,005,415 Ticket Sold

Seeing these figures on paper makes me angrier than ever when you consider that this money supposedly goes to our hospitals and such who are always strapped for cash. There should be an inquiry as to where these funds have gone . Remember this is just one lottery of many. Then there are the scratch tickets...more cash. This happens every month. I've learned that when that much money is flying around something is usually rotten. The damn OLGC seems to answer to nobody. People should start asking their MPs' why all this money is needed for health care when the lotteries bring it in hand over fist and the proceeds are supposed to go to health care. Now some of the gas tax is supposed to go to medical equipment. How much is enough. Paul Martin has plans for billions on top of this. Is there a limit? Or is it really a bottomless pit?
Sorry Frank ....went off on a tangent there:D

Karnac you see the discrepancy. In May there were more saled tickets and less 5th prizes!! That's unbelievable!! :dizzy:

To where the money is going that's another common question in other countries not only Canada.
Governments and the House (the Government II  ) make what they want with this money not what is the need for people as you well said.

But I cannot believe that with less tickets, players can win more fifth prizes!! :dizzy: :dizzy: Something is happening guys ...:agree: :agree:

Well Frank...that set off a few bells....and my addition was incorrect.
All math, not just algebra can be a challenge at times, even with a calculator. May's 3# payout was $19,295,540. June's is correct. Sorry to get you excited. Mea Culpa.

Not a problem Karnac, I thank you all this stuff :agree2:
Good to see that in JUne, with less +-9,000,000 tickets, players winned more money in the 5th and 6th prizes (+-$3,000,000). That makes my point again: to play for $5 and $10 prizes is the to go or as George opinion "to play $1 per line lotto" .:agree:

Some are still 50 cents per line... ...BC is $1 per line.
