Now for some post draw analysis.
Sometimes the simple, intuitive method works best. If only I'd chosen the 8, the first number from the previous draw, as my repeat.
In 20/20 hind sight, the numbers did not seem so difficult.
#34 was still decidedly a "hot" number and a good pick.
(Good picking Karnac!), and what goes well with 8? - the 34, which even last hit with 8 only 3 draws ago.
Actually 8 is a hard number to find a partner for in terms of the list of pairs.
Other numbers that do pair with 8, include: 9, 12, 44, & 13.
9, 13, and 12 pair up with 17.
- the number 17. Which was a popular pik amongst many players for this draw.
1 + 7 = 8. 44. 4 + 4 = 8.
What was also particularly interesting is that 3 of the 6 numbers were adjacents, or "leap froggers", to numbers that hit in previous draw, ie. 9 adjacent to both 8 and 10; 34 adjacent to 33; and the 44 adjacent to 45. Adjacents have been more popular than usual for 6/49 in recent draws. Also, a double digit number like 11, 22, 33, 44 either often anounces or occurs with another double digit number, in this case the 33 from last draw announced the 44 for tonight's draw.
Average number of primes = 2: 13 and 17.
So why did I not think of this plain sight approach, these most easy choices which were really quite simple in the end?
