∏ (Pi)

I know most of us on this Forum love numbers and number manipulation to say the least.

I highly recommend the film ∏ (Pi), it's a bit out there but an absolutely brilliant film in my opinion.

It is a 1998 American surrealist psychological thriller film written and directed by Darren Aronofsky about a genius paranoid mathematician who builds a supercomputer at home and searches for a key number that will unlock the universal patterns found in nature.

Here are a couple of links if anyone is interested:-

Enjoy!

12:45, restate my assumptions.
(1) Mathematics is the language of nature.
(2) Everything around us can be represented and understood through numbers.
(3) If you graph the numbers of any system, patterns emerge. Therefore, there are patterns, everywhere in nature.

Thanks for the links PAB. I will keep an eye open for that one. You may be also interested in the YouTube channel numberphile. I am subscribed to it, there's lots about PI , The Golden Number, Fibonnaci, infinity, parallel universes, root2, Base12, the list goes on.....ideal for numberphiles like us !
Enjoy! :read:

In attempting to copy your link PAB in my iPad I ended up copying your whole post. I don't quite know how that ended up being reposted but I apologise for any confusion that caused. :wow:

Unfortunately I spotted it too late to edit it.

And even my link to Numberphile doesn't work. Thats the last time I reply on an Ipad to a post on here.

It should be:- http://www.youtube.com/user/numberphile
