Why Isn't 6/49 on television?

Why aren't lotteries shown on television like Lottario used to be? How the hell do any of you know that what's picked isn't just a computer summary of what numerically hasn't been picked yet? I've never met a single person in my life that's won the jackpot in a lottery and I've been all around the world. Makes you wonder who the hell picks the numbers and why we can't watch them pick them.

Actually it is shown on TV. The actual balls coming down that machine. You can watch it on the late night CTV news on cable 8

Otherwise, let's just play PLINKO and see if we get the price right !!

 :wavey:

Actually, it isn't shown on CTV news.......so where do you see it? All you get at CTV is the unofficial numbers with no draw. You may be thinking Lottario.

Yes, the lottery corp is now advertising that lottery draws are (back) on TV at 11 P.M. In Ontario anyway. Check the OLGC web site for which channels. They are not "live" however.

Actually, Bob Barker, It is a good question. :agree: :agree2:
I'd like to see it shown on T.V. nationally, live and not tape delayed, with a live audience.
I think everything should be as transparent as possible.
Welcome to the forum, post some thoughts, comments, and let us see what your picks are behind door number two. :wavey:

I agree with Bob tho...I too once posted the exact same question and don't see why it would be a big deal to take 30 seconds of airtime to show a live drawing they used to do for the 6/49 in the late 80's....

it'd be far more exciting to watch a live draw then check your numbers online or something....

and like Dennis, i too have won loads of lotto cash !!!!

Here is quote from the OLGC website...

"The draws will be part of a 90-second feature called Ontario Lottery Tonight which will air on CHUM Television Stations across the province in their regularly scheduled late night news broadcasts. The LOTTO 6/49 draw will be seen on Wednesday and Saturday evenings between 11:10 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. (Eastern Time) and LOTTO SUPER 7 will air in this timeslot every Friday night.

CHUM's local television stations include CITY-TV (Toronto), CP24 (Toronto) The New VR (Barrie), The New RO (Ottawa and the National Capital Region), The New PL (London), The New NX (Wingham) and The New WI (Windsor).

Numbers shown on the television program are unofficial. Draws are officially recorded by KPMG LLP and witnessed by Computershare Trust Company of Canada."
