Here it is Kids! For one thing he doesn't like Europeens and French Canadians or Atikameks as well...But he will get censored from now on so his stupid comments at times ...won't make it to the air anymore... :lol:
A delay of 7 seconds will be put on starting tonite...
Here in Québec any commentator talking like him against any other race would get fired immediatly...
My feeling is that only narrow minded people are liking these comments...
Anyways if really so many people from the other provinces like his racist comments so much...You shouldn't be asking yourself why some referendums takes place ...
I know many french canadians and they are proud and great people one thing they are not is scary people or chickens ...
Looking back on Cherry's comments....He never played in the NHL, He once coached the Colorodo Rockies:rolleyes: , He never defeated the Montreal Canadians with his bunch of goons while he was coaching Boston
A perfect losing track record here :lol:
maybe this has something to do with it... ;)

I think Cherry is a mouth piece and ppl watch him mainly for entertainment not really taking what he says seriously. This whole thing is blown out of proportion as usual, mainly because CBC has to remain politically correct. Too much time and money has been wasted on an opinion of one individual. All that needs to be done is flash a msg on screen bfr each broadcast (as they do already with other programs) saying "Cherry's opinions do not reflect the opinions of this station ... ". Most ppl know the diff anyway.

Dennis , on a different note, I heard the Language police in Quebec, tried to shut down a pet store, because they had a parrot, that only spoke English.

Amazing, how in the span of one week we have two sporting events that have caused so much controversy, first it was the Janet Jackson boob, and then the Don Cherry boo boo.

Maybe Cherry was trying to point out the Europeans and the French are smart for wearing visors, and the english are stupid for not wearing them.

Cherry's been sticking it to the Europeans for eons but they just ignore him (at least publicly) since they know where it's coming from and dismiss it as hot air, as they should. But CBC can't afford to have a WASP picking on French Canadians on air ...

Don't think Meeker would have gotten involved in something like this, he was more diplomatic than Cherry would ever want to be.

Do not agree here Brad...
People taxes are used to hear diffammatory comments...This should not be allowed :no: always tainted with something negative about certain targetted races...
Don't get me wrong here...He once was after the players from Sweden...
Telling lies on National television is obscene and should be stopped...It is not only a matter of opinion here...You have to realize that many kids are listening to that crap re-inforcing
un-true stereotypes in their minds...And installing hate in their heart when they should on the contrairy open up to the world...
There is also a huge number of people lacking of education and without tools for criticisism they will take it for granted...
If CBC wants to put up a show be it but there is a line that you can't cross...Cherry's has crossed that line for too long now...
He should be fired...As simple as that...

I'm used to being laugh at and many things are being said about our nation that are totally faulse...
But doing nothing about it is just like if you'd agree with it....even if you do not agree...

Just reading a few comments above...Let me tell you that...The minorities in this province are better treated than anywhere else on the planet...Being from such a minority I can talk about that better than anyone else.... :agree:
These kinds of comments reflects exactly what I talked about in my previous post....Un-true Stereotypes and desinformations from medias....
Let it go a few years....You will find out that a large portion of the country is seperating..... :sick: :dang:

I partly agree with you Dennis, especially when kids are involved (but this is where parents should intervene/explain). Cherry should not speak in public in my opinion. He's too abrassive and bombastic. The problem is that ppl like him bring in the viewers and revenue. There's is a lot of crap on the air these days (Jerry Springer comes to mind) but the bottom line for networks is $$. I don't know the tax/advert breakdown of CBC's income but I'm thinking that if Cherry gets cancelled outright the $$ loss would be no small potatoes :notme:

Yours is a sad and scary comment (but true) that a large part of society forms it's 'opinions and values' based on what they get from watching TV. But that is a fact not lost on the 'manipulators' of this world ... wanna start discussing advertising? religion? politics? :D .... me thinks we need a diff forum for that ;) ... and a lot of beer

You can speak English everywhere here....You can ask for everything in English ...Actually you would have a hard time in certain parts of Montreal finding a french speaker....
English is the most spoken language in downtown Montreal...
So your parrots story is offline here...

A french Canadian couldn't talk French and receive the same services in some other places in this supposed bilingual country....
So you obviously don't need a police language there...
As far as Atikamek.....:lol: We are just a few to speak it....

To put things straight...
Most of the players from Canada in the NHL are from English Canada....Many more English players are wearing the visor than french Canadian players...the poor quality player ''Tie Domy'' is one of them (One of Cherries favorite)...He is a poor quality player not because he is speaking English or because he has a certain origine... but because he is a bad player that's all...
Now is the player wearing the visor chicken or something...Absolutely not...

The only reason I posed this question was not wether You agree or disagree with Don Cherry, this incident has been front page news across the country all week, The point I'm trying to make we as a country have more important things to try and solve, than this , mad cow , Sars etc.
