Hi, I've been a member for a while not done a lot of posting BUT have found the info on the site incredibly insightful & useful! (Especially GillesD's stuff & his macros).
I've mainly used & browsed the site for help in understanding macro's & Excel formulas, BUT the last few weeks I've gotten more & more into the ACTUAL lotto!
You see before now I was just fascinated with numbers, statistics, probabilities, macro's & formulas.
Now I want to take things further! I'm not a betting man & very rarely go on the lotto but I would like to test things further!
I have come across loads of filtering systems etc.. but I'm currently doing a "past history" scoring system.
For example if a line drawn falls within the sum range of 116-184 it scores 1, if the line falls within the Hi/Lo range of 2/4, 3/3, 4/2 it scores 1.
The aim is to see how many "past" lines have met the set criteria, how many have failed by 1 or 2 or 3 or more and so on.
There are a few things I have not managed to get my head around though that I need help with.
I'm not going to inundate you all with everything all at once though, the first thing (which, if someone can help with will also help with 2 others) is how to check for consecutive numbers and combination numbers.
My results sheet is set out as follows:
A B C D E F G
1 Date PK1 PK2 PK3 PK4 PK5 PK6
2 19/11/1994 3 5 14 22 30 44
and so on..
From the above, either in a separate sheet or on the same sheet, I want a formula (macro may be better. I'm not sure) that will check first of all for 2 consecutive numbers and if 2 consecutive numbers are found score it 2, if 3 are found score 3, if 4 then 4 and so on (I know 4's extremely unlikely so 5 & 6 are too!). Apart from not being able to figure out how to do this, it has also occurred to me that there could be more than 1 set of consecutive numbers i.e. 1,2..48,49 so I would like a way of incorporating this into the test as well!
Anybody got any insights on how to do this?
Another thing I'd like to do, if possible!, is produce all possible lines in one sheet MINUS all the lines that have been drawn to date. I have GillesD's macro that produces all possible lines but don't know the commands or notation to have it check each line against my previous draws (on a separate sheet in the same workbook) and skip them if drawn.
Again any insights are welcome.
If anybody wants me to upload my results or anything just ask! (I'm pretty sure you guy's are way ahead of me on this sort of thing and won't want them but the offers there!)
