Totally Frustrated!!!

I am getting very fed up with some of the people around here.:burnt:

I post here a lot, because I enjoy exchanging ideas with others about playing the lottery. And there are many here who do participate and exchange ideas.

But most of you aren't interested in an exchange, you are just takers who are here to find out what you can but are not willing to share anything.

I recently put up a file for Blitzed and Mr. Rich and posted the link here so that they could access it. I meant to take the file down, but forgot about it for a few days and when I went to take it down I saw that there had been 44 downloads of my file.

Now, I put it up for public consumption, so I am not complaining about the downloads. What I am complaining about is the lack of gratitude and sharing. :bomb:

No, "Thanks, Icewynd. This will be useful."
No, "Your file gave me some new ideas on playing the Pick 3 and I am going to share them here".

Nope. Just grab and run!

Icewynd, I know how you feel. It only takes twenty seconds to say thank you. I noticed the same thing when I posted some stuff a while ago. People come here for freebies, some of them don't care about how much effort you put in to create these things. I wonder if thats why PAB doesn't come here any more ? He's too giving, and he was in high demand. Its seven months since we last searched for him and got one reassuring reply. I hope he's in a bunker somewhere laughing at all this. :agree:

Frank,

Thanks for the confirmation that I'm not alone in my frustration!

I'm sure that PAB experienced a lot of frustration over the constant demands for his expertise. I think he probably experienced a form of burn-out that led him to distance himself from the board and get his life back.

Yes, I hope he sneaks back once in a while for a quick peek and a giggle.

Good luck!

Here's an update, my updating of GillesD's Ntuplet macro has had 154 downloads, still no acknowlegements.

My recent do it yourself guide to my Markov chains spreadsheet had 2 acknowledged followers, although 18 people downloaded the screenshots, possibly to determine if it was worth the effort. I'm certainly not encouraged to make a habit of sharing in this way, it's hard work for me. :smash:

I've looked at some of the macros (I think that's what they are) that some of you guys have posted here on the site, and I promise if I ever get smart enough to understand even a quarter of what I would have to do to make them work, that I will give the author full credit. I have an old copy of a program called Max Hit Pro (version 3.06.04 from 1999) and an even older copy of Windows Lotto Pro (version 3.5 - covering 1992-1995) that I can only use on an old Dell running XP. A few years ago I downloaded a trial of a new Windows Lotto Pro, and was surprised to find it picked EXACTLY the same numbers as my old program. So I decided that my old programs were just as good as any of the new ones that seem to pop up on a regular basis. And, correct me if I am wrong, (which is entirely possible) but during the last year of the UK lotto picking, that those same old programs have done almost as well as the other methods used.

No correction needed, Niteowl -- those programs served you very well indeed. And, you are currently sharing the lead in the current Number-Picker Challenge, so they are continuing to perform very well.

Good luck!

hiya niteowl, you might want to try running that old Windows software on a Linux based OS, using the WINE emulator.

some of the bigger live Linux distros, probably have WINE pre-configured...burn to a DVD or thumbdrive and boot up :hair:

I use my Windows forex-trading software on a Linux based OS, and it runs fine in WINE:lphant:

cya,
