I hope that you have all passed a very Merry Christmas :xmas: since my last post on this subject.

I have read all your input to my previous post and have done some thinking about how this should be set up -- thanks to all who offered their advice and experience. As a result I have made some changes to my original concept.

What I am now proposing:

;) I think that we should all play the same lottery for ease of comparing statistics -- I propose that we play the UK National Lottery. The reason for this choice is that the cut-off time isn't too far out of whack, no matter where you are located on this globe. Also, the data for the draws is readily available online from Richard Lloyd's Mersyworld site:
http://lottery.merseyworld.com/Winning_index.html

;) 20 numbers seems to be the most popular choice, so we will all pick 20 numbers per draw. You will need to submit a fresh set of numbers for each draw to be considered. I will post a set of 20 randomly-selected numbers for each draw (from Random.org) as a benchmark.

;) I realize that it is tough to participate in every draw, so I will average the scores by the number of draws in which you participated.

;) The UK National Lottery draws are held each Wednesday and Saturday. The cut-off for ticket sales is 19:30 GMT/UTC, so your entry must be submitted by that time. This site seems to be running on Central Standard Time so the offset is GMT-6.

I hope these changes are acceptable to all who expressed an interest.

The first draw of the challenge will take place on Wednesday, January 1st, 2014. I will start a new thread to which you can submit your numbers. This thread will be placed on the International & State Lotteries Forum.

Have a Happy New Year & Good Luck to all :goodluck:
