Supplementary Number

Ok you guys have been doing the lotto number crunching for a longer period than I have (I have only been doing it 9 months now) my question to you guys is

Do you include the Supplementary Numbers (Bonus Balls call them what you will) in your calculations.

I Have been doing this but am now having seconds thoughts about it, specially when it comes down to the Skips analysis.

Please I would love to get your thoughts on this matter

Hi Doug W,

Each player of whatever game has his/her own thoughts when it gets down to an analysis. EG., I like chocolate milkshakes. The shop owner says that he will put an cherry on top of whipped cream if I pay an extra $.30. Now then, does the chocolate milkshake taste any better with the whipped cream and cherry on top? Does it taste any better or the same without the garnishment? The bonus ball is an enticement for a greater or larger win only! It is up to you how much money you can afford to lose so, you are left with that choice. A basic bet is the way to go, which means---do not add or subtract unless you know that you can with 60% certainty, call a given amount of numbers and they will be there.

I think it depends on what exactly you are keeping track of, whether or not to include the bonus ball. If you want to know how often a ball is drawn from the machine and hence how often it appears in a result , then you include the bonus ball, because that is what you are wanting to know.
However, if you want to predict statistically when a ball is likely to appear in the main ball set, then you would study only the history of the main balls in the results to get the statistic.
If you want to keep track of how often other balls follow a named ball in the main balls, then you ignore the bonus ball because it is not included in the question you are asking.
It always pays to store the results in full, including any supplementary balls as you may decide in the future to ask questions which include such balls in your analysis.

When I first started tracking lotto results, I did not include the bonus ball in my statistics because, as Frank says, I was only interested in the main ball set. Then one day I noticed that quite often a ball will move back and forth between the main set and the bonus ball several times during a hot run. After that I changed my skip tracking to include the bonus ball as I feel that it gives me a better sense of what is going on.

Good luck!

i have heard of plans to " get most of your money back " where ea play has a good chance of a small win, to cover the cost of playing. and that most of the prize money is is returned on the smaller wins.
sooo...
instead of paying $15 a week to hunt for the big win win what if you could guarantee $4 back ea week , covering a smaller win? then you would also be in for the same number of lines against that big win; as you have the same number of tickets in the draw, but it only cost you $11 for the week not $15.

well thats one argument to look at the bonus numbers i have heard.

doug w: I have had better results using the bonus #'s in my calculations rather than not using the bonus #. Each to his own.

I appreciate your comments. Have decide to do all my calculations both ways , including / excluding supplementary numbers and that way with have best of both worlds

Hi SavageGoose I have come to the conclusion that using the supplementary numbers is most beneficial in Skips anaylsis for balls.
