hey guys,

Not sure if we're talking about the same person although we could be. CBC TV did a piece about this guy a few years back who I think exploited a glitch in the system (don't know details) and won millions. Revenue Canada went after him to collect tax on the winnings, citing his 'gambling' was really a job (even though prizes are deemed winfall therefore not taxable, hehe) ... we've talked about this here bfr, Combo mentioned it a few times.

Could try a search in CBC archives with 'Terry Leblanc' or other pointers from Karnac's link.

Hey Guys

there are a group of Viet. guys here in Vanouver doing exactly the same i.e. winning EVERY MONTH !! This has been going on for 5 months at least...I have been watching LUCK Magazine and there are different ppl but they do win around 24,000.00 average.
One of them has won over 200,000.00 in 2 months...
It's very weird that they had ppl from Calgary come here and play.
Someone here at work told me this could be drug money as they are trying to make it look legal (money) by winning lottery !!
They must be playing tons of combos since the money is there.
They are located around Victoria and Commercial Drive in Vancouver ..
They can't do that with BC49 or S7 yet

Headline:

BCLC Involved in Vietkong Money Laundering!!

... that'll teach them BCLC starched shirts to double the ticket price on BC49!! ..............

.... we need more Calgon!! :D

Nice Headline Brado

Well, tons of ppl are playing sports action and KENO so the Revenue lost in BC49 is going back to them anyway
Untill some smart person comes along and put the price back to half like the way we like it..
I haven't seen anyone winning the so called 2,000,000.00 Jackpot for a long long time !!

thanks for all the responses, it was the brian leblanc fellow i was thinking of....three of us here have been playing nfl football tota all season, and winning only when everyone else is winning, so the shared pot didn't amount to much.....looking around now for a system to keep us playing "oddset" sports games ( nba basketball, american college sports or whatever they have on the menu)...we've been betting around 240 dollars each week on toto, and will stay with that for the oddset.....this leblanc fellows' story is an inspiration........

hey, combo (you, too, brad) nice to see you on the board again...been pretty busy lately, but will start playing super 7 again, but probably not bc49....buy the odd (sshhhhh)(q.p.) ticket every so often.....

 .....darn it's cold out.....where is that hot rum toddy icon...

Don't think they did Charles...

but that's second hand info so don't quote me on that.

What they did do to 'slow him down' was: " New rules designed specifically to push him off his game have decreed that lottery terminals can only sell $100.00 worth to any one person, unlike before, when Brian could buy all he needed at one or two outlets. Now he has to chase around town from store to store to buy his tickets in inclement weather, in his untrustworthy nine year old Volkswagen. For a loner who likes to hang around his modest rented house playing with his computer, that sure eats into the day, which is what the lotteries had in mind. Wear him down! "

I remember hearing something about this. The government didn't win, I think they dropped the case because his lawyer argued his client would pay taxes on his lottery winnings if everyone in the country could write off their lottery losses on their taxes. They backed off that quick as I remember. They argued if their client had to pay taxes then it was logical that he and everyone else should be able to write off their losses on taxes also.
