software/macros for pair elimination?

Various programs I've been playing with let me generate a text file containing combinations of tickets, as well as another text file containing least desireable pairs from previous real draws.

I'm looking for either a (preferably cheap or inexpensive) stand-alone program or an Excel 2000-compatible macro (my files are easily imported into Excel sheets) that will let me automatically filter my tickets and delete lines (tickets) that contain the pairs specified in my "bad pairs" file.

Does anything like this exist? I've searched around and haven't found anything that can do this specifically, I'm hoping I've missed something :)

Thanks!

mabman, Lotto Architect offers the number groups system which does what you ask for. Besides pairs/triples, which is a rather aggressive filtering, you can establish any sort of number-related filtering process. e.g. you can prepare a set of 10 numbers (or any set of numbers) and based on the history performance of this group or other statistical analysis, eliminate (filter out) tickets that contain a specific amount(s) of your selection of numbers. You can setup any number of such filters of course. Also, once you setup these filters, they can be applied at your will on any future listing by the click of a button. You better try this out to understand better the possibilities this system offers.

Hey lottoarchitect, LottoPro and ExpertLotto are priced fairly, are extremelly powerful and have free unlimited updates once you have paid for the programs. This forum is supposed to educate people regarding some money saving while playing lottery if you didn't know.

Indeed, what about the news that Lotto Architect also offers unlimited free updates to databases and the program? As for the price, this determined by what the program has to offer.

:agree2:
Well, that are some good news then :agree: . Gotta check your program..

Did you find a macro to help you with pairs?

Let me know.

Actually no - but also I discovered I missed the option I was looking for to filter out least/worst pairs on the fly when generating ticket combos (using Saliu's POWER632, once the best/worst/least pairs files had been generated with Saliu's UTIL6-32).

However, from reading his site, it appears the "best" pairs filtering option is just a dummy (it doesn't actually do anything), so I spent some time and put together a little program of my own to filter already generated combos for them :) Moderately interesting results so far.

I'm contemplating doing something similar for triples - it's a bit of code modification to my existing program, but from a programming perspective the principle is nearly the same...

Hi Mabman

Is your little program Excell based? If so I would like the code/formula please.

Have you tried the "Triples" Macro that PAB and GillesD put together, its very good.

No, it's just a stand-alone program written in Perl that reads a text file containing the "best"/most frequently occurring pairs (BEST6 file as generated by Saliu's UTIL6-32), and a text file containing "ticket" combinations (as generated by Saliu's POWER632), prompts for the number of best pairs to match per ticket (MIN and/or MAX or MIN with no MAX can be configured), and spits out a text file containing all the combos that match. It's not a state secret, and I'm by no means a professional software developer, so the code itself isn't pretty.

Also, it is computationally intensive to go through a large number of ticket combos, but I've got it running as effeciently as I can. If wanted, I can clean it up and possibly look into created a self-contained executable (unless you have Perl installed already). Not sure how to distribute it - from the board rules I understand links are forbidden???

Anyway, thanks for the heads-up on the triples macro, I'll search the board for it.
