Forces of Nature 3/7/04
The forces of nature are rearing their ugly head this weekend and some parts of the province are paying a heavy price. By the time the storm moves out of eastern and central Newfoundland tomorrow morning, there could be close to two feet of snow on the ground. Blizzard warnings are up for several areas from west to east. Rodney Barney of the Gander weather office says high winds are compounding the trouble. Barney says the system will leave a lot of snow in its wake, between 50 and 60 centimetres in some areas. Numerous roads are closed but the TCH is in pretty good shape in most areas.
