Should Credit Unions lose their favored tax status

Should Credit Unions lose their favored tax status

Credit Unions pay lower taxes then comerical banks.

A few months ago I paid my credit cards off the wrong bank account.

Got bounce fees from the Credit Union. I understand this to an extent. However I got my fees waived from the for profit credit card company.

The for profit credit card company waived the $35 late fee and both of their $20+ fees for the two bounces.

I only submitted the payment once but they did a second attempt.

The non profit credit union was not so nice. They were like we will split the difference with you and they still charged me $28.

$28 for an honest mistake seems a bit much. What do you all think?

Is your local credit union friendly? Or are the as bad as commerical banks?

Should they have the tax breaks that they currently have?

I gave up on the big banks almost 25 years ago when they jacked my mortgage overnight from 17 to 21% even though I had locked in at 17% the day before signing. I have dealt with Hepcoe ever since. I walk in my branch, I'm offered coffee and greeted by name, and I never have to wait in a lineup. This is fast friendly service, every banking situation is handled professionally, not like the big banks that never have enough tellers and when there are tellers they are all trainees who can't assist without running for authorization. A relative of mine retired from the Royal Bank a few years back.....she went up the ladder from summer help teller to Senior VP.... she'd rather use a credit union anyday. As far as losing tax status, I'd have to say no. They are the only viable alternative to the monopoly of the big banks. What with mergers and acquisitions as the credit unions grow they may lose some status but for now they have my business, and are growing daily.

When did you start using that Gail's thingy? Hope recently because I'm thinking about buying it...

About banks - well, I got a quite big credit , invested the money but at the same time the bank said we want money back right now or %%%...well, learned a nice lesson that time...

That's pretty good :agree:. I'm presently looking for an interesting progie able to successfully shrink the 1-49 playing field once in a while, so will check it . Hope it might help with Confidence+Opportunity+Intuition+Numbers=$COIN$ without that much intuition...;)

TT , as I've said here before, it is the only program you will use every day. Today , tomorrow, 5 years from now, you will be using it. I can't say that of any of the other programs I've bought over the years. Why, I still had the pen and paper version of her program I bought in 1982, and still went back to it time and again. Perhaps you may want to wait a little while as Charles2 has been in contact with GH and a new Windows based version is in the works....should be out shortly...maybe contact their support and they can give you a date. If you leave out the Intuition, it may be a $CON$ job, in most cases , but not this one.
