Seeking your opinions

Would anyone have any interest in an additional forum?

Not that lottery isn't the pivitol centre of our of our lives :) and I challenge anyone to say differently :D but I have seen such quality of diversity here in the past couple of years.

We have bar none, the best group of skilled lotto members on the internet.
Also from the frequency of posts in "anything goes" it is also apparent that lots of members here have energetic political opinions (how could we not in these times?), leading edge skills in puter and digital technologies and the willlingness to share and help others with special knowledge over a wide variety of topics.
Our membership base which is now closing in on nearly 5000 has displayed an interest in everything from "what is the best beer" to "lets get rid of or keep Bush".

If I built another set of forums, like an internet cafe kind of thing, focused on topics like we talk about here in the anything goes section, would that be of any interest to anyone here?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Personnally...I wouldn't go there  as much of here...
3 reasons for that...
1- I'm a lotto player...
2- I would be bashed by others like you wouldn't believe...I have a very different views on things as many here might have already noticed ...And I will emphasise here...Not better but surely different..
3- Arguments about/from political views or best kind of beers are an open door on hate and everything that follows...And people stick to their views or to the general public beliefs that are untrue and unfounded 99% of the time...And it might rebound here...

But having said that....It might pleased others and at the same time...It might clear the way here for more constructives lotto discussions...

LT, my main interest here is the lotto, I do appreciate the anything goes forum, I must admit occasionally it gets abit heated.
We get the freedom to post so many different things, sometimes after a rotten day at work, to come home and read a good joke, just puts a smile on your face.
I come here because of what this site is, so thumbs up to you, and the contributing members here,
To answer your question, good idea, and by the way, thanks,:agree2:

IMHO anything or any discussions regarding Religion and Politics should be ban just like we banned url links and promotions.

There's nothing constructive than a bunch of adults fighting for something that they believed-in but themselves. Others would always beg to differ and that's when a whole lot of bandwidth is used for useless opinions which is neither right or wrong.

We don't need another MiddleEast crisis in this forum.

Now folks, that is MHO.

Thanks LT and keep up the good work !!!!

Thanks guys - good comments. I think we are thinking the same thing.

Nothing will ever effect the lotto community here that we have built up together for so long.
Re the politicals - yes that could get heated somtimes. Actually it was something Peter said here in the anything goes forums that added to the thoughts I already had. Peter you said something to cleo like what does a political disscussion have to do in a lottery forum? and you are correct.
I was envisioning a place where these types of discussions as well as much less volatile topics like food and wine could be discussed.
Dennis if the place had a bass fishing topic would that be good? :) although that specific a topic could not be put up right away.

Your comment is well taken nisirc thanks.

Anyhow - more comments are welcomed.

Knowing you, as I do, Dennis, those are honest words, I have come to realize, you are outspoken, and that perhaps is not to every ones liking.
I quess it is a matter of excepting the way you are, nothing wrong with that, sometimes the English does'nt come out as it would in French, so I'm telling you, my remarks were positive in nature, not negative. :agree: :agree2: :wavey:

Both Anything Goes and Computers sections fit quite fine here... A brand new forum might experience significantly different visitors’ profiles, depending on the forum’s focus and the visitors’ interests…

LT, what would be the the main difference between the Anything Goes forum and the one you are proposing? To me, they sound as if they would be similar in nature.

LT my comments were not deregatory or negatives I was only talking about what I would be doing going there or not?...
I am already fully registered to a fishing forum...A French forum where anglers (and some awesome ones speak about tips and tricks) That forum is the best forum for fishing in the world...Just as this forum is the best forum for lotto in the world...
We will have that fishing trip together that we talked about before soon...don't worry I will catch a huge hit pretty soon...I can feel it coming..

I think a fishing trip with Dennis would be the experience of a life time, perhaps even an opportunity to get to know the man better.
I'm somewhat confused tho Dennis, at night sitting around the campfire do you discuss the big one that got away, or the big one that got away on the lotto.
See we would be ideal fishing companions, since you and I enjoy both with a passion.:agree: :agree2: :wavey:

Nothing is impossible Peter...One day we could be fishing together too...And around the fire is usually where my mind plundge into the next big catch...You name it...lotto or fish... :agree: :agree2:

But we would have to teach George that fishing with a golf club instead of a fishing line is not very good ...
Unless he has a huge musky on the other end..

"A brand new forum might experience significantly different visitors’ profiles, depending on the forum’s focus and the visitors’ interests…"

TomTom - you are right. Based upon the topics, the member profiles would be different.

"they sound as if they would be similar in nature."

Maggie - they would be similar in nature but more specified. ie here at anything goes we talk about all kind of things. At another forums those things would be given their own sections like "food & wine" "jokes" etc.

A lot of blogs which talk about a wide range of things are popular. I was thinking of a set of forums like that.

I've been playing around with concept this weekend. I'll set one up, see what you all think. I'll need a couple more days to finish it. Thanks to the good advice here already changes from the initial idea have been made.

More comments, suggestions and critiques from everyone is very welcomed.
