Where is the best place to stay. Can people suggest anything? Or maybe a link to the Motel/Hotel Village?

just wondering, as u correct new members when they post links to other sites etc. I will address this question to You.
what is the differance between the info you just asked for and what others put on for general knowledge.
I notice in the past there are some links or web sites posted by senior members also, could you explain more why some appear to be a no, no

just tring to become a more informed law biding member

also always wanted to ask what's the differance between the member, junior, or senior mmber etc.

Hi Ladiluck and welcome...

Good Question now let see if I can answer that one correctly...
The question I ask was Places to stay in Calgary...The answers I got were not advertisments or affiliate ad links to spam or other lottery paid crap.
And it is not a post that links to web sites containing other bulletin board forums.

This is part of the rules of the forum
"Do Not Post email addresses, ICQ, Aim, Yahoo Messenger, or any other personally identifying info.
Do Not Post off topic conversations, advertisments or affiliate ad links.
Do Not Post links to web sites containing other bulletin board forums.
Be courteous and respectful to other members."

If you read all the rules which are on the board it may help you understand the difference..

Hope this helps and if not ask away and I and others will try to answer you to the best of our ability...

Hope that helps..

Either downtown or McLeod trail will put you pretty central in Calgary. McLeod trail might be a little cheaper with respect to hotel prices and still have some access to good restaurants and easy bus/LTR service into town. I lived in Calgary for a year in 1980 but I don't think things would have changed too much. Any Calgarians agree out there???? I guess it all depends on what you want to do Sheba. But stick central. I believe one directional measurement of Calgary stretches 90 miles.

Bones, believe me since 1980 Calgary has changed so much, you would'nt recognize it.
Sheba when are you going?

when I lived in edmonton in the mid 70's I spend alot of weekends in calgary and now make it back there a couple of times a year, and beleive me it has changed since then, trippled in population, but the main drags are still the same.
there are alot of good hotels around 16ave and deerfoot trail that we have stayed in recently and it is close to the airport ifyou are fling in. and that gives u good access to the south and east west

I thought Babarlish's reply would be OK but I have been wanting to ask that for some time now and just used that reply for an example when I asked, wasn't rying to make it sound evil or something like that.
I read the rules when I first joined but thought all links and web sites were not allowed, quess you have to be sure they are spam free first. will read them again thanks again.:wavey:

It's a grey area at best. I get requests to exchange links to and from my site a few times a month. Since my site is strictly non-commercial I do not accept links whose sole and only purpose is direct sales. There are other sites where related information is offered but who also offer items for sale and/or link to other sites where the sole purpose is selling. In the end it's going to be at the site administrator's discretion whether to include and/or allow the link to be published.

I don't see any replies from Sheba. It could be that Sheba is already here in Calgary.

A beautiful day to visit our city :)

Today we have a temperature high of 17 Celsius with Chinook winds from 30 to 50 clicks an hour. Sorry for the migraines prone people (like me):worry:

If you have not seen Andre Philippe-Gagnon yet, go, if you have the chance. He was in London last night and put on a really great show. His voice is amazing. :)

I thought they only said that about Saskatchewan,

hope a lot of Calgarian's read that , since 25% of Calgary must be former Saskatchewan residents.
