I n this fairly new lottery ticket "payday", if you have the (4) winning numbers i.e. $1,000.00
per week for life, what is the situation if (2) or more share the ticket? Obviously, one will die
last. My question is: who decides who will be designated as the winner?

If there are more than 4 winners they split a default jackpot amount of 2700000. So as long as there are 4 or less winners they each get 1000 a week for life. If there are 5 winners or more they split the default amount.

I think you misunderstood my query.

Suppose my son & I buy a payday ticket between
us and we have the only winning ticket.
Who gets the $1000.00 per week for life?

Couple of FAQ from the Lottery Corp website. Hope this is the answer you're looking for. If not, more info is obtained from the site.

Q9:
Can winners of the top prize receive a single cash payment or lump-sum payment instead of the $1,000 a week payments?

A:
The appeal of PAYDAY is the '$1,000 a week' for the rest of the winners' life (minimum 20 years). However, winners do have the option of a single lump-sum payment of $675,000.

Q10:
If I choose the annuity prize, can I give it to someone else or sell it?

A:
The annuity prize cannot be sold and can only be transferred once to a beneficiary on the death of the winner.

2 ppl are a group

Q15:
Can I play PAYDAY with a group?

A:
Yes, you can play PAYDAY with a group. However, a group of people claiming the top prize may only be able to claim the one-time lump-sum payment of $675,000

Another option is to keep the Lottery Corp out of the loop if there are only 2 ppl. Make a formal agreement where one becomes the official winner, split the 1000/week equaly and designate selves as each other's beneficiary ... simple, eh? :D

I'd be more concerned about the Lotto Corps assassin dept
which springs into action on the 20th anniversary of the win!!
........
