I have noticed that the payday archives do not say if anyone has won the first prize i.e. $1000.00
per week for life. Does anyone know the reason for this?

tango101, if you go to the OLGC site and follow the link called "winning numbers" you'll see that info. This is for this past week's winnings and as you can see, there was no winner for the top prize.

That info I was not aware of but is there an archive going back to payday's inception giving that same info?

Yep, there is a way, tango. Follow this link:

PASTPAYDAY

Choose Payday
In the drop down list, choose which month you want to look at
Hit view
Click on "pot of gold" image, then that will take you to the page which breaks down the prize amounts and number of winners for that day.

Aw geez, I’d like to say I broke into a sweat and searched high and low and far and wide for the info, but, if you went on the OLGC site and did a bit of navigating, I’m pretty sure you would have found it as well.
