Either that or I'm finally going nuts. Is anyone else experiencing a problem connecting with their MSIE browser today? As of a few minutes ago my IE version 6 browser stopped working - all I get is 504 errors of timeout - unable to connect messages. But here is the really wierd thing. My old netscape 4.7 browser connects to sites just fine. Really perplexing!

Everything working fine from here LT!

Maybe you got one of those malware that has been going around! Or maybe you are using a proxy that has gone bad!!

Thanks for the feedback. Still unable to connect from 3 different computers here - all on windows 98 systems - 2 on cable connections and 1 on a dailup. Right now I'm using my daughter's computer MSIE ver 6 but with a windoze XP system and the connection is fine. hmmmmmm ????

and you are right thornc - I'll have to shift over to firefox.

Check you proxy... and your ISP!

I have seen unbilievable things go wrong because of bad configurations on the ISP side!!

Another test is to install a local proxy and see if your browser works through that!

(I won't even ask if you have a firewall on you lan!)

May I advice on some optimized firefox 0.9 builds... I'm using one from here!
Choose one from the top, according to the processor you use!

Also get some extensions, good ones are
* "ieview" which will call up IE for the a link!
* "User Agent Switcher" which will enable your Firefox to pretend it is some other browser.....

An update on the browser problems:http://money.canoe.ca/News/Other/2004/06/25/514310-ap.html

"Stephen Toulouse, a security program manager at Microsoft, recommended that computer owners obtain the latest security updates for Microsoft products and their anti-virus and firewall programs.

Because one flaw has yet to be fixed, he said, users should also turn up security settings on Microsoft's Internet Explorer browsers to the highest levels.

Security experts noted that users can avoid the exploit by using alternative browsers such as Mozilla and Opera. Users could also turn off the "Javascript" feature on their Microsoft browsers, though doing so cripple functions on some sites. "

No LT you did not break the Internet. As a matter of fact Lisa double checked and you did not.

To turn off the Internet press the button beside the red phone. :teach:
