Odds for Irish Tengo Bingo

Hi everyone,

There is a game called "Tengo Bingo" which you can participate in at Ladbrookes bookies in the UK.
There are 6 numbers drawn from a pool of 45.
You have to pick 15 numbers from that pool of 45.
You have a grid of 5 boxes horizontally by 3 boxes vertically where you input your 15 numbers selected.
The 15 numbers can go in ANY box and in any order.

There are 10 wins available :-
Match ALL 5 in ANY row (3 wins available).
Match ALL 4 corners (1 win available).
Match ALL 3 in ANY column (5 wins available).
Match ANY 5 anywhere (1 win available).

Can someone tell me the odds for all the above please.

you are telling me that there are 45 numbers in the pool or field as i call it
and that there are 6 balls drawn.
also that you bet 3 lines .
then the template whould look this

1,2,3,4,5
6,7,8,9,10
11,12,13,14,15

if that is the case then

1,2,3,4,5
6,7,8,9,10
11,12,13,14,15, are 5 number line winners
also
1,5,11,15 is a 4 corner winner
also
1,6,11
2,7,12
3,8,13
4,9,14
5,10,15 are column winners
also
if nothing else then any 5 numbers is winner


if all this is true then i will calculate all the odds for various winner and get back to you

if 6 of 45 then total possible = 8,145,060



the chances of hitting 5 of 6 number drawn on 1 line = 234

so if you bet 3 lines then the chances = 3 x 234 = 702

then the odds to catch 5 = 8145060/702 = 1 in 11,602

On my list of future projects. Time is a problem.

To start, with 15 numbers out of 45 going anywhere on a 15-place grid, there are 450,974,292,794,344,230,912,000 different cards that can be created by the player.

Does the game allow multiple wins? You can have two column wins. You can also win two columns and the four corners on the same ticket. If you match five in one row, you've also fulfilled the winning position of five anywhere. Anything extra (except matching five six times) for matching all six?

i am sorry but i used the wrong template above the correct odds are

the chances of hitting 5 of 5 with a 6 number draw = 40
3 lines = 40 x 3 = 120
8,145,060/120 = 67,875.5

most of this stuff boils down to simple factorials

to find the total possible combinations in a pool of 45 if 6 balls are drawn then
45/6 x 44/5 x 43/4 x 42/2 x 41/1= 8,145,060 posible draws

to find the chances to catch a given set of 5 numbers when 6 numbers are drawn then: 1 x 40/1 = 40 since we are bettig 3 sets then 3x40 = 120

corner; the corner is a 4 number set
1 x 41/2 x 40/1 = 820 1 set times 820 = 820

columns; column is a 3 number set
1 x 42/3 x 41/2 x 40/1 = 11480 x 5 sets = 57400


as far as the 5 overall matches i had to use an old turbo pascal i wrote years
ago. here is what i came up with

6 numbers over all = 5005
5 numbers over all = 90090

i only vetted this program for the first 355 draws and it is accurate so far


SO!


the odds are

for a 5 in line winner = 8145060/120 = 1:67875.5
for the corners = 8145060/820 = 1:9933
for a column match = 8145060/57400 = 1:141.9
over all 6 number match = 8145060/5005 = 1:1627.38
over all 5 number match = 8145060/90090 = 1:90.41

if no winner is excluded by a higher winner then the odds of
any winner = about 1:53

It is a FIXED £2 bet.
To win you must have one of the following :-

Match ALL 4 corners to win £900
Match ALL 3 in ANY column to win £120

I truly hate to seem dense but i am rather confused.

do they draw 6 numbers then return the balls back to the machine?
then draw 6 more numbers then again return the balls back to the machine?
then again draw 6 more numbers and return the balls back to the machine?
when is the bonus ball drawn and how is it used?
are the winning draws sorted ascending?
are your bets sorted ascending?
on your play slip can you use a given number more than once?
do you have to match their first drawing to your play slip first line?
second to second?
third to third?

Please disregard all my previous posts about the odds of this game. I simply did not understand the this game.

Beyond that there are octillions and nontillions - I'd have to do some research to find the names for anything larger.

Getting back to the game, there are 1,307,674,368,000 different ways to arrange the same 15 numbers on a given betting slip.

I still do not understand how tengo bingo is played. More info PLEASE. If I know how a game is drawn and how the prizes are paid it is very easy to calculate the odds of winning a prize.
