October 20th National 649 draw question

Hello all,

As you can probably tell, I am new to this forum and playing lottery all together. I have been doing this for just under 3 weeks and have accomplished something that I though was worth sharing with you.

I played in October 20th National 649 draw and won a 4# prize along with a 2+b prize. Do you think that I was close, or am I excited for no reason whatsoever?

Hi Oracle,

I don’t think that anybody might advise you how you did exactly, since all players have different backgrounds, which means different resources available. In my opinion, you did quite good with something that seems like 50 lines, since there are 15 4-number combinations existing in the wining 6 numbers. Usually, without much luck a 3 win is expected in 56 lines, but for a sure 3/6 win you might need to play somewhat like more than160 lines having nearly 3 3-number wins per draw, again without not depending on luck that much . Both initial sure and expecting money return in lottery is not measured using any higher percentages, and additionally the higher ticket prices made the situation significantly worse. Therefore, in my opinion your money return was significantly better than usually likely one, and whether you are satisfied with it depending on your personal resources and wishes….

Of course, the number of possible combinations containing 4 of 6 wining numbers is much higher, probably something like 15*C(45,2), but still it is a quite good win playing something like 50 lines ...
