Found this neat analysis on the web:
http://lotteryanalytics.com/649/649_repeaters.php
The author analyses 2746 draws of the Canadian 6/49 game and identifies, by number, the times that the number showed up in 2 back-to-back games, 3 games in a row, 4 games in a row and 5 times in a row (only 4 of these!).
This answers a question that I have long intended to analyze -- if a number shows up in 2 draws in a row should you bet on it to come up a third time? The answer is that only 12.5% of double repeaters will become triples.
