Number selection

Guys,

Was wondering about number selection strategy.

Do you think it's best in the long run to say pick a set of numbers and play them religeously or pick different numbers at random every draw?

One thought I have is to play 2 tickets. One using my regular favourite numbers and the 2nd ticket numbers picked at random or using software.

Two bites at the cherry so to speak.

Just curious about the maths/odds of each approach? ie; Waiting for a rigid set of weekly numbers to finally appear or the hit and miss, 'shotgun' method of different, randomly selected numbers each week/draw.

Any thoughts?

Paul.

hiya, you should look for stats on the most probable range for picks in your game, then make a pick meeting that criteria.

you could also try to spot trends, and make a pick that goes with the flow or against it.

one thing I like to do is watch for draws that don't contain single digits, try to gauge how often that happens. If for example you see 7 draws in a row which at least have 1 single digit, then I'd exclude 1to9 out of my pick for the next draw. Ifya guess right, then you end up with a narrowed down number playfield, and better odds...which is a good thing ifya just playin a few picks.

Hi Blitzed,

Thanks for the thoughts on this.

Just regarding programs like Lottopro, I wonder if they use a similar analysis when picking so called 'smart' numbers?

hey hey mrfirkin, I don't use lottery programs so I wouldn't know, but perhaps that is the case.

I'm sure everyone is tryin a different mix of similar strategies, followin some sort of probability in an effort to reduce the odds that need to be beat.

g'luck!

For each draw I usually have a set of new numbers.
Depending on the cash situation I will also do some replays.
It seems the best strategy is a mixture of both.
New numbers may be needed to take care of some observed
short-term trends.

Yup, if someone solely plays one strategy, I bet it stagnates, and they get bored & bummed out.

It is best to mix it up, maybe have one pick comprised of favorite numbers that is played every draw, but also try a random, or a set of full spectrum picks to cover the entire number range.

Crafting picks cooked up with a good recipe is fun, trying to guess the ratio of cold, warm & hot numbers in the draw.

Hello Mr Firkin,
being a little technical, I lose the feel of numbers in any game when I try to collaborate with a lottery program and then try to translate that information
into concise thoughts. Now this is probably just me but somehow my train of thought gets sideswiped when I work with electro-mechanical thinkers that don't think, we're just not on the same track just the same goal. I believe that if a person starts with programs such as Lotto Pro--then they should stick with them and the same goes with your own pet project (or doodling as I call them!) Been a while but at one time I had won five of six numbers in the Ohio 6/49. I traced for almost two years the programs listed wins and never did find where that particular digit came from or went to. On the other hand I checked my computations foreward and back and within three weeks I knew what had happened. Because of the way that I think in dealing with numbers, human and non-human intelligence---will be a long time before we are compatible. So in finishing, this may be the problem that is causing many numeric problems.

Teufellj...

Yes!. you're correct

Hello Pal;

It's nice to see your posting here!. The first method you're referring is called waiting metod and the second one called hunting method. So, for the waiting method you've to pick a set of number (either your favourite numbers or the good performer in the pool) but this should be a continuous process as the outcome will not be so encouraging but you'll get surprises!
And in the second method, you've to predict with the best software or use my own logic to pick a smaller pool of 9 or big pool of 20 numbers. In this process, you'll have many lower level winnings and a big Jackpot too!. You can visit http://www.onesided-oneday-cricket.com/lotto.html and understand better.

Best of Luck!
