The results took too long!

Anyone know why? How were the numbers picked?

well first there's the main winning number for the 25million....then there's the 1,000 prizes which are the first 6 numbers from the main winning set (25mill), and matching the last 2 digits makes you $20....

then there's the 4 X 1,000,000 prizes and 20 X 100,000 prizes which only have one winner... then the early bird 14X 100,000

i got nothing.. :(

The Millionaire Life lottery is more complicated than other lotteries.

First each jurisdiction had to ensure sales were closed for the lottery. Then, collect all the millions of selections in a file and securely transfer the file to Lotto Quebec. Then a few checks back and forth to make sure all the totals for each jurisdiction matched what Lotto Quebec received.

Then, Lotto Quebec conducts the draw from the file of sold selections. Again a few more checks. Then transfer the set of winners to each jurisdiction. Each jurisdiction adds the winning selections to the winners file. The match 2 number win category contributed close to 200,000 winning tickets.

A lot of checks and processing contributed to the time it took to publish. They make sure they do not publish wrong numbers. There may have also been some errors along the way that we do not know about.

Hope that helps.

so, matching the last 2 numbers, you can only match them from the main drawn numbers?

That is correct. Only the numbers drawn for the Grand Prize can be used to match the last 2 numbers. That is also the same rule for matching the first 6 numbers for the $1,000 prize.

In one of our groups, three tickets matched the last 2 numbers for a total win of $60.

One Question

Thanks, Lotto Groups, for your reply.

Was the actual draw, picked by ball drop, or electronically?

If by ball drop then a comparison to the file was in order to
see if that number existed on the data base.

Just curious.

The draw was done electronically. A computer was used to randomly select numbers from the set of numbers that were sold. That is how they were able to guarantee a single winner for each prize.

well i won a couple grand at the casino a few weeks ago so i thought what the hell? i played a grand on millionaire for life. got back 120 how many sets of 20$ did you play lotto groups out of curiosity?

i thought this had better odds at a big prize can anyone tell me if i was wrong? the odds werte based on how many selections sold canada wide and only drawn from those selections sold kinda like throwing your numbers in a hat and 25 regular numbers and almost 40 numbers(including the early bird) which i didn t buy mine in time for. so 40 in how many million??????? anyone know just how many tickets were sold??? i didn t think this had an over amount of interest.... until the draw then everbody was talking about it and asking if anyone knew the numbers to see if they could retire

We had two groups for the Millionaire Life lottery.

In the first group we had 17 $20 tickets. It was limited to 17 shares so that each person could win $1 million.

In the second group we had 6 $20 tickets.

In total, we had 161 selections. We did better than expected in winning 3 $20 prizes.

The lottery companies had estimated they would sell around 18 million selections. I have not seen the final sales figures. When I do I will post here.

Just under 14 million selections were sold for the early bird draws.

I have the final sales report for Millionaire Life.

Bad news. As it turns out, buying Millionaire Life tickets was not a good idea. They sold way more selections (tickets) than estimated and the expected value was low. Therefore, not a good buy.

Sales of selections that qualified for the early bird draw were 13,720,197. In total, 24,010,944 selections were sold. The lottery corporations had estimated they would sell 18,000,000 selections.

The following are the expected values for the various price points.

For the 7 selections for $20, the expected value was 44%.

For the 3 selections for $10, the expected value was 38%.

For the 1 selection for $5, the expected value was 25%.

These are very poor expected values considering the average lottery gives an expected value of 50% on average. A large Super 7 or Lotto 649 jackpot gives expected values of around 70% (and sometimes as high as 80%).
