Mega Millions revamp?

I was *very* bored, skimmed through PDF from California's lottery commission meeting.

currently the Mega Millions jackpot is won at 1 in 175,711,536 odds.

instead of raising cost of play to $2...they might re-tool it, changing the odds to 1:258,890,850:eek:

MORONS will absolutely ruin the game. I rarely play big lottery, but the only one I sometimes chase is California Super Lotto Plus, 1 in 42million odds I believe, since there is no 6/49 lotto in California.

Yeah, they are doing something similar to our Canadian 6/49 game -- ticket price goes from $2 to $3 in September with the promise of higher jackpots and a new $1Million prize every draw. At least they didn't mess with the essential structure of the game.

But I agree -- these "enhancements" aren't to improve our experience, its all to pull in more money for them.

heh! don't we all? I got laid off of work...so I had just spent 4hours surf fishing and watching bikini gals jog by:) since I'm not younger & singler, went home and I needed some reading, caught up on the latest lottery happenings wah wah wah.

how will government advertise new MegaMillions? WIN TENS OR HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS! (small print: over a one-in-a-quarter-billion chance to win) :rolling:

I think more people will just walk away from MegaMillions, and would rather cough up $2 to play PowerBall instead.

Man, life is tough out there in Cali
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I think people will probably just carry on as before, picking up their QP and dreamin' of winnin' the huge JP, not realizing that the equivalent of every adult person in the US has to buy a ticket before the thing is won.

hiya Icewynd, yup, not too shabby here...at least not yet:rolling:

anyway, yeah if there is gonna be a lottery game with way super crazy odds in the USA, might as well be a monsterous national lotto.

afterall, Unkle Skam needs to at least do token offset of the US deficit & unfunded liabilities & other debt, just a wee bit:bomb: (there really needs to be a bigger bomb, nukey nukey!)
