MATH Question

Hi all. I am new. I joined mainly so I can ask this:

Say I always play the same 5 numbers and all the possibilities for the 6th (44 lines in total). How often will I win something? (on average)

Thanks. :confused:

I know!

and I should know - as I am the No.1 distributor in VWD! (you can see my picture at the top of the Testimonials too:)

However, the company says the answer to my question is 13 and I think it is 7. Any mathematically inclined in this crowd?

Best, :cool:

Win3 = 132,656/1,712,304
Win4 = 9246/1,712,304
Win5 = 216/1,712,304
Win6 = 1/1,712,304

At least 3->6 = 142,119/1,712,304

12.05:1

You can calc the 5+ category...
and add it to the above odds.

In essence, what you're doing by playing 44 lines with one number fully covered is leaving yourself with a 5/48 matrix. The odds of hitting all five numbers in that matrix is 1::1,712,304.

BCLC says ... 1:7 for any prize

It may be all in the way one looks at it, the system described is the same as BCLC's Combo5 Play, see HERE for "Chances to Win (per selection)".

So are we back to 1:7 overall?

Thank you Brad

Thank you very much indeed Brad, but I don't understand the actual computation. Do you?

1:28
1:12
1:148
1:111
1:2,271
1:3,027
1:127,126
1:317,814

Overall 1:7

Nick and John

Good, I am getting there <LOL>

Question - how does Nick get the 216 for 5/6?

Question - how about Brad's website showing 1:7 -where did they go wrong?

Note: Even if it's 1:12 and VWD is still wrong with their 1:13

Since there are multiple prizes when
you win the best way to calculate this
is to create a mirror of the tickets to be played.

In doing so the following table is the result

Category Covered Total 1/x

w3 1,494,724 -- 13,983,816 -- 9.36
w4 137,214 -- 13,983,816 -- 101.91
w5 4,774 -- 13,983,816 -- 2929.16
w6 44 -- 13,983,816 -- 317814.00

Atleast 1,636,756 13,983,816 8.54

I did not include the W5+ category

Problem solved!

It's about 7.5

I asked the lotto genius Stefan Mandel - the one who won the jackpot 14 times - see articles in Newweek, People magazine, etc. on the website <<< affiliate ad web site deleted >>>

He said to me just 2 minutes ago:

<<Theoretically, Combinations of 5 from 49 divided by the total number of existing prizes in the game (approx. 250,000 prizes)>>
