LT-virtualworlddirect?

just noticed at the bottom of my browser it says transferring data from www.vitualworlddirect.com??? then i noticed a banner advertising it at the bottom of that page. i went to the site to see what it was and it looks like a syndicate to me. i thought this site didn t support that kind of stuff? anyways now you know if you didn t. also ive had problems signing in in the past while in a forum when i go to reply and it prompts me to sign in, when it gets to the page that says it will redirect me it ends up at the sign in page again. haven t been here for a while..internet was down...so i dont know if thats fixed or not.

Hi wazz - heres what's happening re the banner.

Yes it is a lottery syndicate, that some visitors may have interest in joining or not. Is that banner mine - no.

This site does not support spam, as well as other things and for many years continuing to the present, a high frequency of vitualworlddirect spammers show up here. You know the usual new registration, first post like "I've just discovered this great website." - like we don't know it's the spammer's own VWD affiliate account

Well after 8 years of deleting the spammer links, I received an email from a person who asked to purchase space for his ad banner so that is why it is there.

That process is legitimate and not spam. Whether the ad banner is a good match for the advertiser here or not will soon be known if it is renewed or not.

Regarding transferring data - that is just the banner loading from its source on another site rather than here. Some banner ads ie LottoPro are hosted here on this same site and others are loaded in from other sites.

Re your login experience - this happens to some members who don't have their cache cleared. With whatever browser you are using, clear your cache, clear your cookies, then login and hit F5 for a clear refresh and you will be fine. Also its always best to click the remember me or stay logged in option for your future visits.

Thanks for your question wazz. I was actually expecting that question from my buddy with the whiskers - Brad, who is always extremely helpful with spam alerts.

thanx lt

thanks for the help, i was kinda surprised that one of the usual spam catchers didnt say anything either (a little meaner than i did) lol

Heh ... like I haven't noticed! ... ;)

I have expended a lot of energy fencing with V*D spammers over the years, but I kinda figured you were on top of things with the new ad. Spam is verboten. However, when someone wants to support this site using cash I see nothing wrong with that, most members here are savvy enough to make up their own mind about the syndicate. And it's immaterial if I happen to think it's akin to advertising Depend in a Teen mag

If there are any questions on how the systems works just refer them to me, LT, and I'll set them straight ... ehm, I mean I'll be glad to brief or 'enlighten' them :agree:

actually before i came here i had never heard of a syndicate. its only because of posts by you and others who like to bash spammers that i didn t take interest in these syndicates. other than that i may have been a little curious about how well these work...i mean its only natural that the more people you have putting money in your lotto pool that you end up with more chances at winning. but claiming 1600% better odds??? dont know if i buy that one. hopefully other newcommers and visitors (that may be more gullible than me) read the slams posted on spammers and syndicates so they dont get slammed

Ah that makes everything clear now. I tried to make a free internet lottery syndicate, and I was scratching my head as to why it received no interest. Seems someone else came up with the idea and corrupted it.

Hello LT;

Thanks! I was also one among the puzzled lot to see such a notification every second at the very bottom of the browser's status bar.

Hi LM

I think that might be because it is a flash banner with lots of stuff going on.

Re syndicates - they are for some and not all but they aren't evil :) what is evil is spamming syndicates :(

I bet there are lots who have made money via VWD but one has to realise its like a pyramid structure like Mary Kay and Amway etc. They are MLMs - multi level marketing and if you can get serveral people in the sytem under you then you make $$$
