Lowest 649 Jackpot in Years

I just noticed that the estimated jackpot for the upcoming April 11th game is only $3,000,000.

That's the lowest since they switched to a $2 game.

Only???? 3 mill is a loooot of money , IMO....

But it doesn't matter.... Let’s just hope there will be additional games also available in future….. it would be very good if , for example, that Ontario’s 6/45 + bonus , or a game with similar tickets costs, odds and prizes distribution becomes widely available. In that case more people might be more willing in spending some money for lottery in all games, IMO ....

Actually, willing is not an appropriate word here ….should be "more people might be more happy when spending some money in lottery"….. IMO, from probably a very simple math and logic reason: more games with better odds – more winners. Cheaper tickets – less madness if not a winner. And , it might be easier to have a JP winner in own closer neighborhood or even become one. I’ve seen a JP winner only in TV commercials or in papers, pictures or such, so far….

That's pretty sad. Given the lotto's recent PR disaster, now lowballing us on the starter jackpot is bad optics. C'mon! Why don't they make $4 million the minimum jackpot, and ditch this "estimated jackpot" nonsense? That's the way Super7 does it.

When the 649 draw cost increased from $1 to $2, the original starting jackpot was to be $5,000,000. rolling to $10,000,000 if unwon.

I wonder what genius decided that increasing the ticket price by 100% would net the lottery corps a greater bottom line.

Update

The jackpot for the April 11th draw was over $3,800,000.

This jackpot was won and the estimate for for April 14th is $4,000,000.

And back down

Seems like the Wednesday draws don't sell as many tickets as the Saturday ones.

Last nights jackpot reached over $4,000,000, yet the next one for the 18th of April is estimated at only $3,000,000 again.

Well, I liked it so much when it was $1 ticket, and had possibly many JP winners weekly…..but, also gotta accept that some players possibly complained since maybe didn’t like possibility of sharing JP among a number of people…I didn’t have such JP dilemma, though ….well, salaries go up, and there is a very good economy presently, so very soon in my opinion JPs will be that big that nobody will have a reason to look with how many players will possibly share it…

yup, it is BS havin to share a jackpot...not to mention pay taxes on top of it.

imagine what'd happen if Vegas adjusted payouts according to how many winners there were at a roulette table for example. oh, you hit red 5? sorry, this guy bet on red, someone else on center line, another on odd, so you'll only get a reduced payout, sorry. ha!

Also, I think there should be a formula for resetting the JP...In my opinion, if a JP goes forever without gettin hit, once it does...the JP should be reset to half of the previous JP...that way a reset to chump change JP won't be such a turnoff.

Well, I couldn’t agree less….In my opinion, among really top countries that are best for living all around the world are both Canada and States….this is a lottery forum, so, let’s talk just about lottery… if having any doubt about any lottery games, I think in both of them is fairly achievable to make money, and then travel and play a lottery game somewhere else if you think that’s reasonable from whatever reason….and, either being a lottery game winner or loser, when you return, someone will welcome you home….

so, as I said, there is always a solution if you like gambling...not necessary playing lottery.....probably casinos have games with much better odds

And, when seeing your web pages I was thinking you are really good in programming, and there are also very good salaries presently, probably better than JP in some games....therefore, a more secure way in making money than gambling ...any gambling should be just for entertainment purpose at first, in my opinion...

Thanks tomtom, I try. There really isn't much money to be made doin internet work for other people.

Companies just want to exploit, most prefer contract jobs out to programmers in Asia or eastern Europe, and pay them almost nothing. Also they don't have the additional expense of extra workstations, healthcare, etc.

Well, did you try adsense? I was thinking about it before, but didn't have any spare time to learn web programming and become really confident with it, and probably made a big mistake while not considering it can be a extremely good paid full time job, and be own boss....heard some people made a lot,lot of money ...

no, I'd only consider promoting products which I have faith in, and consider relevant to page content.

Sometimes automated web ads are silly, used in bad context, or in very poor taste...for example if there is a news story about a devastating hurricane or tornado, damn google ads will litter the page promoting some high performance car parts or vacuum cleaners with Tornado or Hurricane in the name or description. marketing whores! The ads should instead be for First Aid kits, emergency radios, rations, insurance, etc.

Well, can’t agree, because…businesses try to sell already authorized products and look for a good marketing and advertisement, because there is big competition on the market. Customers look to buy what they are interested in without paying nothing for just looking while ads help them to find what they are looking for. And, someone gotta take care of advertising. Actually, everyone is happy in this case or in lottery jargon, everyone is JP winner.

But, we probably can agree that we are a bit out of original topic, so let’s someone post about it… :agree:
