Lotto 649 Payouts of the Top Prize

I have a question, Being a new player Ive recently just wondered this.. Every week that someone wins the top prize in lotto649, It never is set to exactly 4Million.. WHy is that some people will win over 4 million or 3.7 million etc. is it based on how many people buy tickets that week? Or based on what? Thanks guys..

yes, unlike super 7 which has a GAURENTED set jackpot, 6/49 pays out according to the amount of ticket sales. If you look closely at the lottery terminal screen it will always say "Estimated 4 million" for the 6/49 or when they post signs for the jackpot (I have a terminal at work, its fun...I know a lot). hope this helps...I noticed this past saturday the jackpot was EXTREMELY low, something around 3.2 million...ouchies...
