Surfing the channels last night and managed to catch a show on TLC called Lottery Homes.
They profiled 7 BIG winners from the US ranging from $2.5 million to $91 million.
These people were all working class people before the win - one was so destitute he spent the last $10 he had on his tickets.
Basically, they showed how their lives had changed, in particular the lavish homes each had purchased.
How did they pick their numbers???
Surprisingly, most played the lotto every draw just for a few $$. Most had picked numbers and played Qpiks as well. That $91 million Powerball JP was a QPIk but three other winners, including a $7.2 million winner won with picked numbers.
Two other winners said they "let the numbers pick them" - essentially closing their eyes and writing down the numbers that came to their heads.
Worst thing about the win?
Constantly getting requests for money. One guy got 5000 letters in a week asking for cash. However, this guy also donated $60,000 for an operation to help a kid with eye surgery to prevent blindness.
Best advice from the winners?
play consistently and believe you will win.
