Last draw jackpot question

Hello

For the last draw, they were saying the jackpot was 15 million $. (Feb. 23, 2008)

How come the winning ticket ended up winning "only" 14,578,521 $ ?

What happened to the other $421,479. Isn't that false advertizing?

Appromiately 15 Millions

Good Question coz the person who wins the $14.5 millions would not even care for asking about the other 500,000 ..........but they did say it is going to be appromiately 15 millions they never said that it is the confirmed amount..........so they can't be sued or anything for that....

My best guess is that the lottery corporation expected to sell more tickets. But that's a very big difference. They should advertize lower and give more if possible, not the other way around...

I guess you don't care when you won 14.5 million $. One of those winners will eventually complain.

Publicity for jackpot

I justed checked the lottery sites for Quebec, Ontario and B.C. for amount of tomorrow draw. In all cases, it is stated as $8,000,000. but with approximate in Quebec, estimated in Ontario and est. (most likely for estimated) in B.C.

So for the $15M, the difference was $412,478, a small 2.8% not a bad estimate.
