I've ranted before about low paying job clerks at the lottery terminal making mistakes... ...a rejected slip needing rescan can get you. I was preparing to make a cash in trip today to the store. To my sorrow one of the 3 hitters was missing... ...it turned out to be a looser was scaned twice in place of the one which never made it... ...counting the number of sets to confirm all is done right is NOT good enough and cude with a loop-hole so big, you could drive a Mac Truck through. I have a habit of confirming all the sets are played going through them one by one to make sure... ...that day, I didn't and paid for it (figures!)... ...just imagine if a 6 hitter never made it to the scanner???
Moral of the tale... ...trust no one but yourself when visiting the store.

... ...the increased speed is a trade off to the accuracy... ...of course its obvious the shorter length of time spent by an employee feeding the lottery terminal is better for thier profits and worse for us customers
... ...I also learned a new machine is being installed on Tuesday. This will be interesting to see.
