Kiss $10.00 goodbye!

I've ranted before about low paying job clerks at the lottery terminal making mistakes... ...a rejected slip needing rescan can get you. I was preparing to make a cash in trip today to the store. To my sorrow one of the 3 hitters was missing... ...it turned out to be a looser was scaned twice in place of the one which never made it... ...counting the number of sets to confirm all is done right is NOT good enough and cude with a loop-hole so big, you could drive a Mac Truck through. I have a habit of confirming all the sets are played going through them one by one to make sure... ...that day, I didn't and paid for it (figures!)... ...just imagine if a 6 hitter never made it to the scanner???

Moral of the tale... ...trust no one but yourself when visiting the store.

I always check my numbers after i buy ESPECIALLY now since these new lotto machines came out in the last few months or so, because if you notice, they've made the way the operator puts the ticket slips in faster by just depositing downward like in a BIG mail slot, not like before where the operator had to pay more attention and insert the slips into the mouth of the machine.

These mishaps have happened to me a couple of times with these new machine.:dang:

Oh really, thank you for pointing this out to me:agree:... ...the increased speed is a trade off to the accuracy... ...of course its obvious the shorter length of time spent by an employee feeding the lottery terminal is better for thier profits and worse for us customers:dang:. This is consistant with what Dennis tells us about his episodes too.

Also, just spoke the manager of the store I usually visit today about things like this and I can tell you the other store where I've had problems is no longer going to be used:burnt:... ...I also learned a new machine is being installed on Tuesday. This will be interesting to see.

Regards,
George:)
