"You thought it was a lot of balls, but there's one you can count on" in UK lottery ... see here

Thanks Brad .....that's a very interesting article . The fact that the results were hushed speaks volumes. Have to wait for that FOI to kick in, then we'll have more good reading...:agree:

Well well well :dizzy:

So, should we play our 31-47 here?

One thing I don't understand

637 draws they expect a number to hit between 70 and 86 times

Is this a confidence level? 95%?

GillesD? anyone?

Good or bad numbers

Beaker and Karnac

It depends on what numbers you consider for the 637 draws:

- with the bonus number included, you get 91 with the formula 637*7/49
- with only the 6 main numbers, you get 78 with the formula 637*6/49

Actually in the first 637 draws, 31 numbers (or 63.2%) did come out between 70 and 86 times wtih 9 numbers less than 70 times and 9 numbers over 86 times (fairly well balanced).

At that time, 38 had come out the most often and 13 the least often, Now, nearly 200 draws later, 38 is still the leader with 144 times but 13 no longer trails. It has come out 96 times compared to 93 times for number 41 and only 90 times for number 20.

So it changes over a period of time. In Canada's Lotto 6/49, number 31 has been the leader for quite some time, but we have seen more changes at the lower end.
