In early 2009 I started a very productive and successful thread in a NewsGroup on calculating the Coverage of a set of numbers in a 6/49 Lotto game.

With the mentoring of John Rawson, the author of the CoverMaster program written in C++, speeds were achieved by those who were following along in less than 1 second in Visual Basic 6, VBA, Visual Basic 2008 (or .Net) and Visual C# for say 163 lines.
While I have my own code for finding the next best play coverage wise and it does the job I would be very interested in suggestions for say finding the next best play for the 9th line. To match John Rawson's speed 50 of the best should be displayed in less than 1 second.
Put your thinking caps on.
