Hi all,

soon I'm heading to England on a business trip, and in my bank I got two different types of 20£ Bank of England banknotes, they say it doesn't make a difference but I'd ask our English friends is that truly the case i.e. are these "old" and "new" banknotes equaly accepted?

Thank you.

i doubt it, canada and u.s. seem to be the only 2 plces where old money is spendable. most other countries re evaluate their system every few years and you have only a certain amount of time to change your old money for its new worth at a bank. something like that but you ll find out when u go.

thanx wazzappenning for your reply, it's appreciated :agree: Actually I expected a reply from some english member and there are few here. Just for the record, I came back from London and both banknotes are equaly accepted at the moment, there's no difference.
On the side note, I'm sorry for every pence I left there, such a hostile treatment towards Croatians I haven't experienced anywhere and I had my share of travelling.
