Can anyone tell me...

"Why, that the Christmas holiday comes before the Thanksgiving
holiday?
I am asking because when I was a youngster, (muchlyso or back when dinosaurs were the fashion vehicle of transport),
it was July 4th., then, labour day, then Sanhime (all hallows eve), then, Thanksgiving and then, Christmas! ...According to the turkey that was hiding from the farmer, "Thanksgiving was bypassed in favor of Christmas. Are the birds having a jihad or what? Since you probably do not believe what I have related---
Watch your holiday tv commercials or listen to the wireless!
...Maybe I'm getting old...(Bah, humbug and a lump of coal in your white socks...! (Even this forum does not have a turkey icon,....Sigh!)

DO HAVE A WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING EVERYONE ON THIS FORUM AND..."LURKERS!:(Turkeys!)"beer:

To babar and others...

We in the USA THANK YOU, babar. I am well aware of some of the cultural differences between your country and mine but, nevertheless, some items do not change, a different name or title perhaps but they are the same in meaning. The difference that I had in mind at the time of the last writing is that in my end of our continent---GREED---is far outpacing family traditions. Some values of our (yours and mine)older generations are appalled by the lack of the family unity and Thanksgiving is one of the ones being eroded. I have traveled many times to your country and have seen many acres of farms which would suggest to many foreigners that this is your only way of life---not true! I have traveled to your cities and I can see an expanding growth that looked like our cities a few years back. If it isn't already happening, it will---devaluation of a long standing culture will go the way of the others. Enjoy to the fullest what you have now because in twenty years you too will say something like what I asked originally.

------MERRY CHRISTMAS CANADA-----AND IT'S GREAT TO HAVE FRIENDS ANYWHERE!
