CA Daily3

doh! I didn't get to play tonight. The draw was 138.

as usual, much of the time draws appear within my 3x3 matrix...and I was going to start playin more clustered picks tonight...I'd likely have boxed it with 813, 381, 183, heck even 138!

753
481
862

oh well, maybe I can fish the draw out of the new matrix for tomorrow.

hey blitzed can you explain your method further so I can attempt to apply to the ontario pick3?

decide upon a number of draws to track. for each draw, tally up how many times each digit appears in each of the 3 positions...exclude the absolute hottest digits from your pool of numbers....give more weight to the cold digits and sometimes some slightly warm ones as you make your picks.

then count back in past draw history to see the last time the digit was drawn, give those ones more weight.

essentially I'm betting on the most probable outcomes, those ice cold numbers will be hot again sometime soon.

Here is another example from today, my matrix for the CA midday:
781
089
459

Draw was 985, again draw was strong within the matrix, with multiple ways to box it up...but doubles have been out 7 draws, and doubles were storong in the matrix, so I figured heck with it, I'll just shoto for doubles today, and didn't bother with the others...dummy me! I guess it was too early to go for doubles.

 blitzed missed another golden opportunity doh!

Hey blitzed.

Do you play that derby they have in CA? I noticed they have that too. Not sure how it works though. It looked kind of interesting.

Hiya Blue71,

Here is the info on it:
http://www.calottery.com/Games/DailyDerby/HowtoPlay/

The CA Daily Derby looks pretty neat at first glance, but unfortunately the odds for decent prize suck in comparison to Daily 3 pick3.

For example, the racetime is exactly the same as a pick3 straight, 000-999 for the last part of the racetime. Tonight if I had played and got the racetime right 1:43:47 it would have only paid $42! uh, what is the point? a Daily3 pick3 straight, or even a box pays more!

Pickin horses for Trifecta win is 1 in 1,321...tonight the prize for that was $240...again, that is a feeble payout for beatin those odds.

To get the grand prize, I'd need trifecta AND racetime, 1 in 1,320,000 ...grand prize is currently $125k. So it is about twice as difficult to win as a 5/39 grand prize which is same ballpark figure.

The only benefit I see is that an Exacta (1st & 2nd place horse win) is 1 in 147, tonight that woulda paid out $21...I guess that is the gimmick...decent odds to get 10 times the $2 bet...and $1 extra for the other bets. I think this game was made to attract the horsetrack crowd. I'd rather play Daily 3 or Fantasy 5 for $1.

I don't understand the logic...$2 scratcher givesya better odds at winnin higher prizes than does a $1 scratchers...so why isn't the $2 Daily Derby way better than all the $1 lotto games? It just doesn't add up to me. Anyway, I should run some stats, tryta come up with a system to get Exactas...test play and see if I can gain any ground on it.

later,
blitzed
