Look to the skies today and you might catch a glimpse of an asteroid. The space rock will come the closest to the Earth in recorded history at 5:08 pm Eastern Time. However NASA says people won't have to worry a collision, the asteroid will be 42-thousand kilometres away. The space rock should be visible through binoculars across the southern hemisphere.
