I went in to the hospital to have a simple test done which included getting some dye injected and I had an algeric reaction to the dye. Did this every happen to any of you guys?
This is all that I know that I am alergic too? '
they said this happend to 1 in about 200,000...Had to be me!

The dye is normally injected to do a cat scan.
I had it done 15 yrs ago. I remember the Dr. explaining to me that various odds of having a reaction to the dye.
I forget the exact odds, but it went something like this.
1 in a 100 get a hot flash
1 in a thousand get an itch
1 in ten thousand get a rash,and
1 in a million could die from a severe reaction.
Then he proceeded to tell me I needed to sign a release.
Luckily I only had hot flashes.

I got really red all over, my head felt like it was going to bust, I could fell my heart race really fast. my blood pressure went way up then I could hardly hear them talk, my face got swollen, my eyes almost went shut and I got the shakes. They then got me started on an IV and gave me another needle of something to counter act the dye. They kept me in for 3 hours to keep an eye on me and then I got released and had to go home and rest for the day.
All I as asked was if I was allergic to anything, which at that point I was not.
They did advise me to get a medical alert braclet for this, which I will and now I am going to get a compete allgery test done as well.

Good idea on both counts Sheba,
you might have also suffered an anxiety attack, actually that is very common, when faced with stress and the unknown.
I hope and pray that all is better now.:agree2: :wavey:

:agree: you might need a holiday but if I were you I would use those odds 1 in 200,000 in the lotto game.
hope you didn't use all your luck with winning the odds up on that alergy attack.
buy your self a few tickets and then go on hoiday and don't check them for awhile. you wouldn't want an anxiety attack over a couple of million bucks.:goodluck:
