I seem to recall The Bulgarian Lottery had a 6 ball repeat a year ago within a week. That one may have been a 6/42 lottery. I don't think its that unlikely, any numbers can be drawn any time , if its random. A useful lesson to those who eliminate past results when using a system.

Well, the experts are always telling us it could happen any time, just like the 1-2-3-4-5-6!

Still, I don't think I'll switch to a strategy of playing numbers from 30 days ago.

hiya...yup, from time to time there are quirky draws.

I'd still bet against them happening since they are so way out on the fringes of probability.

anyway, what I thought was amazing about the Israeli lotto story, is that the combination was drawn in exactly the same order, not simply the same numbers.

Now you know why I say the lottery is rigged. The Bulgarian Lotto was not a 6/42 game but 6/49 game with something like only 5K draw history. Now another lottery, the Israeli lotto does the exact same thing, in exact ball order. What are the odds? At what point can we conclusively call it for what it is? A bent and controlled game that is nowhere nearly random.

On the bright side, I believe that most if not all of the major lotteries in the USA are legitimate. Unfortunately, Canadian and UK lotteries are rigged just like their Bulgarian and Israeli counterparts.

hiya rigged, yup sometimes I suspect games are manipulated...especially computer drawn ones, it'd be child's play to have "revenue generation" subroutines which would kick in periodically to keep some numbers cold or hot for long stretches.

even more diabolical would be if draw routine crossrefs the database of tickets in play to minimize payouts...thereby bloating the jackpot to create more hype.

playing any game is a leap of faith, gotta assume it is honest, or at least honest to some degree.

Good idea to check the facts before "correcting" off the top of your head.:teach: The Bulgarian Jackpot Lotto game with the consecutive repeat draws was a 6/42 Game.:lphant:

Read more about it here with some pertinent links: -

There is absolutely no need to interfere with Lotto games as the odds provide the revenue desired. Generally, the people that come up with twisted Lotto corruption allegations are usually using that as an excuse to explain why their history systems don't accord with the fickle random number selections.

OK, my bad. The articles said that the repeated drawings happened in the "Bulgarian National lottery" which is supposed to be a 6/49 game. I do remember checking out the actual history in one of software programs I had running at the time when I first heard about this story and it was also 6/49.
Here's a couple of sites that will back me.

Bulgaria also seem to have a 6/42 game so could have been it instead but still the repeating draws are very suspect. Especially when there are 18 winners in a game with such a small history.

Bulgarian Lotto Results from Bulgarian Lottery Site

Why not go to the Bulgarian Lottery site where you will find it is a Pick 6, Pool 42 game: -
http://www.bglottery.com

As I mentioned in my article http://groups.google.com/group/lottogroup/web/bulgarian-lottery-consecutive-repeat
some people deliberately play the results from a previous draw for a like game, in this case for a different day of the week.

Some other points -
A machine was used and the drawing viewed by a committee.
The numbered balls were not drawn in the same order.

Some people watch an actual Lotto draw on TV but still think that some of the balls they see being tumbled are less likely to be drawn because they have or have not appeared in previous draws for the same game. Now that is really weird!
