Ok, how will I start this so every one understands what I'm talking about?
We all know that there are 13,983,816 Combinations for a 649 Lotto.
this is when we look at it as one plane."Plane (geometry), theoretical surface which has infinite width and length, zero thickness, and zero curvature."
but, if we look at it from another view,we will find 44 planes,{or let me use the term field}an area
.
there are 2 ways I can post this,either from the end towards the front or from the front to the end.
some of us know this fact and others might not.
our very 1st row of 6 numbers are
01,02,03,04,05,06 and our very last is 44,45,46,47,48,49
and in between we have our 13,983,816 Combinations.
now to talk about the fields or planes.
01,02,03,04,05,06 = 44 C
01,02,03,04,06,07 = 43 C
01,02,03,04,07,08 = 42 C

01,02,03,04,47,48 = 02 C
01,02,03,04,48,49 = 01 C
the addition sum is 990 Combinations.
at this point we had exhausted the 4 as a 4th spot and must start with a new line.just like your car's odometer.
01,02,03,05,06,07.here you must notice it is a 7 as a 6th spot and the 7 gives us 43 Combinations.
in other words,01,02,03,05,06,07 = 01,02,03,04,05,06 - 44 {990 - 44 = 946}
from this we can conclude.
01,02,03,04,05,06 = 990 {990 - 44 = }
01,02,03,05,06,07 = 946 {946 - 43 = }
01,02,03,06,07,08 = 903 keep on subtracting
01,02,03,07,08,09 = 861
01,02,03,08,09,10 = 820
01,02,03,09,10,11 = 780

now, let us add them = 15,180 C.
at this point we had exhausted the 3 as a 3rd spot and must start a new line
01,02,04,05,06,07.notice again it is a 7 as a 6th spot which means it is
15,180 - 990 = 14,190

here is where we reach the 13,983,816 Combinations for a 649 Lotto.
when we look at all 13,983,816 Combinations unbroken down,it does look and sound scary.
but when we break it down the way you see here, it becomes more doable.
the reason I'm doing this is to see if there are any people out there who can apply the elimination and reduction method to each plane on its own.
let say we want to play 1 as our 1st spot,we are not playing it out of 13,983,816 but rather out of 1,723,914.
if we remove all the previously drawn numbers along with all 6.5.4.3 consecutive numbers along with 2 consecutive skipping one in between.
example 01,02,04,05,07,08. along with any thing else we can reduce,then it wouldn't be out of 1,723,914 any more but rather a much smaller number.

I'll reply.....

First off what you are looking for is somewhat confusing. Your question appears long-winded, but I think you are looking for a set of numbers that eliminates all 'patterns'. I to would like that info, but we must remember that many sets show patterns. However, this has not detracted from my feeling that there is a possibility to eliminate 'obvious' patterns. I have yet to see it, but there has been discussion on this board about programs in which this could be done. With close to fourteen million combinations available, my 'guess' would be that roughly three to four million of those would be eliminated. This would include sets that have come out. The best way to generate these sets would be to; 1) eliminate sets that have been drawn. 2) eliminate 'obvious patterns' 3) Get all the possible combinations, eliminate a number and go from there.

I probably have no idea of what I'm talking about, but as I've always said, 'The best technique is the one that gets you the big win'.

A worthwhile method?

as usual,no input.as if I'm talking to def ears.
OK, here are my comments:

First, I do not get the same number as you when you use 1 as the first number of your combination; to me, this is same as picking 5 numbers out of 48 or using Excel =COMBIN(48;5) or 1,712,304 combinations, not 1,723,914.

Then, using your method to eliminate some combinations, I get the following data for al 13,983,816 combinations:
- 2,610 combinations already drawn;
- 44 combinations with 6 consecutive numbers;
- 1,892 combinations with 5 consecutive numbers;
- 41,624 combinations with 4 consecutive numbers;
- 623,414 combinations with 3 consecutive numbers;
- 42 combinations with a X, X+1, X+3, X+4, X+6 and X+7 pattern (with X taking values from 1 to 42).

This adds up to only 669,626 combinations or only about 4.8% of all possible combinations.

My conclusion: A rather complicated method to eliminate a rather low number of combinations.

Elimination process against actual results

I checked your elimination process against the 2,610 past draws for the Lotto 6/49. Here are the winning combinations you would have missed:

- 0 combination with 6 consecutive numbers;
- 1 combination with 5 consecutive numbers;
- 7 combinations with 4 consecutive numbers;
- 102 combinations with 3 consecutive numbers
- 0 combination with a A, A+1, A+3, A+4, A+6 and A+7 pattern.

This adds up to 110 combinations or about 4.2% of all draws up to now.

Like I said, this is a very complicated mode of elimination. In addition to the 'sets' that I pointed out; I would also eliminate 'sets' of 6-even numbers and all odd-numbers. 'If' someone were to actually eliminate 'patterns' they would have to do this with the intention of playing more than one draw. It would likely two or three. However, if this set were to be generated it would provide members of this board to select lines that could produce a win. I doubt that it would be through the efforts of one person, but with input from many members. I'll provide my insight, if it helps, but I'm not computer savvy enough to produce the 'sets'. I someone is up to the challenge, I'll help in any way, and I am confident that we will see the winning lines come out at a 70% (or more) rate.

hiya GillesD,

what about filtering out plays for 649 containing symmetrical offset patterns?

take this pick for example, having numerous offsets of 3 and even multiples of 3:
2 5 8 24 27 30

such symmetry is akin to a pick of consecutive numbers in my opinion.

what if no more than say 3numbers per pick were allowed to share the same offset value?

cheers!

Nice.... Like I said, if we can eliminate enough lines.... I believe we'll fish-out the winners.

Pattens, patterns

Like I said before, a pattern is in the eye of the viewer. I strongly believe that every combination has its pattern.

Some patterns are more easily seen than other. Every body will see the pattern in the numbers 1-2-3-4-5-6 but a less obvious pattern is present in numbers 22-27-32-37-42-47. Actually, it is the same pattern: take a starting number (let's say 1 or 22), then pick a number (why not 1 or 5) and then add this number to the first one and repeat adding the number picked until you get 6 numbers. What do you get? The sequences 1-2-3-4-5-6 and 22-27-32-37-42-47 and they have the same pattern (or formula). By the way, the very very regular numbers 22-27-32-37-42-47 were the winning numbers for draw #670 of Lotto 6/49.

But to me, numbers 1-4-13-21-23-40 also show a very, very regular pattern and should be eliminated, but many will not see the pattern.

And if we start eliminating combinations with specific patterns, yes we ciould eliminate combinations with a 0-even/6-odd numbers and 6-even/0-odd numbers . Ok, there are not many of them (respectively, 134,596 and 177,100), so let's remove those 1-even/5-odd numbers and 5-even/1-odd numbers combinations. Well let's, not stop at this and remove those combination with 2-even/4-odd numbers and 4-even/2-odd numbers. That leaves us with combinations with a 3-even/3-odd numbers. Hum, this is certainly has a nice pattern, so let's remove it also. I will let you figure out how many combinations we are left with. And you will certainly make money in choosing those.

GillesD, what criteria do you use to select the remaining lines as one cannot afford to play all of them? I also remember we agreed one can eliminate all lines depending on how on sees the pattern.

My comments,

I applied all the methods that I know to eliminated the obvious patterns and I was finally left with 1,283,492 lines.

In all the draws that have shown up in our local game there is always 0-80 (5/5) and occasional 6/6.

The biggest headache is to select manageable lines from 1,283,492 to play.

I try several techniques to select a few lines from the 1,283,492 and the best I have even done was 5/5 last year March.

Thanks

Elimination method

Kenya649, I do not eliminate any combination, since I have played the same combination for quite some time and if I remember well, I choose at that time, the six numbers that had appeared the least number of times.

But, your other comment, that by using obvious patterns, you have removed a little more than 90% of all combinations, is quite interesting. For quite some time now, I have thought to do the same thing but to continue searching for formulas or patterns that will account for all 13,983,816 combinations. If you can, could you list here the pattern you have used to eliminate such a great number of combinations, that would provide a really good start for me.

Good to hear from you GillesD,

Please go through

http://www.lotto649.ws/lotto-tips-strategies/11625-line-elimination-ideas.html

and if you wish I can continue with the same thread or start a new one on how I eliminated over 90% of the possible 6/49 combinations.

Thanks

The classic pattern in a 6/49 lottery matrix is 01-10-20-30-40-49, inasmuch as these are the numbers most likely to fall in their particular columns in any given draw. Note also that the sum of those numbers is 150, the most common sum of drawn numbers in a 6/49 matrix. That combination, though, has as much of a chance of being drawn as any other six-number pick.

nice going, yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrray.
thank you all, but do not stop here.let us get to the bottom of this cause elimination is the only way out. if I can say so my self.
once again, thank you for listening.

not a question.

I probably have no idea of what I'm talking about, but as I've always said, 'The best technique is the one that gets you the big win'.
what you see here is information,not a question.
in the 01 02 03 04 05 06 set, we have 44 combination
in the 01 02 03 04 06 07 set,we have 43 combinations
you keep on changing the 5th spot untill you are at
in the 01 02 03 04 48 49 set,we have 1 combination.
when you add all of them you get 990 combinations.
and so on and that is how I calculated all 13,983,816
and those 13,983,816 can be reduced to a much smaller number.
thank you for listening.

here is a tough question for ya guys.
can any one using some sort of a tool,sort all the already played combinations in a numerical order starting with 1 as a 1st spot to the end of them?
then backwards starting from 49 towards the front?
examples > 08-Jul-1992 01 02 03 04 13 48
13-Jan-2007 01 02 03 19 25 41
03-Mar-2001 01 02 04 18 28 35
04-May-1985 01 02 05 07 40 44
09-Aug-1997 01 02 05 11 17 19
13-Jan-1999 01 02 06 10 14 29
10-Jun-1998 01 02 06 10 16 21
18-Nov-1998 01 02 06 22 36 47
13-Feb-2002 01 02 06 24 40 47
23-Feb-1985 01 02 07 09 20 43
21-Sep-1991 01 02 07 09 21 42
20-Apr-1988 01 02 07 11 34 43
12-Nov-1983 01 02 07 13 22 31
05-Jul-1989 01 02 07 14 41 49
17-Oct-2001 01 02 07 16 20 32
03-Mar-2004 01 02 07 16 43 44

examples >
01 02 03 47 48 49
01 02 03 46 47 49 and so on?
this way we will know the most active 1st 3 spots
and backwards the last 3 most active spots.
I had already sorted out the 1,2...2,3...3,4 and still working.
I only know how to do them manually, copy and paste.

Good data to start with

I do not really understand what you want but I am quite sure that, if your data is in Excel, the Sort command could acheive the order you want.

But I have a bigger problem. Most of the combinations you posted in the previous post (sorted) are good but I do not get the same result for one combination.

Checking data on two sites, I get for this date the values 18, 21, 25, 34, 36 and 45. Quite a difference. Have you checked your data lately. You must have heard the saying: Garbage IN, Garbage OUT.

My data was sent to me by OLG and it is a PDF file not in Excel.and I do not even know what Excel is. sorry I hardly finished my grade 12 a very very very long time ago, so I only copy and paste.
but if you know how to do it. please do.
what I want is to sort out all the already played numbers front to back and back to front.

would it be ok with you people if I posted the sorted out{numerical order} drawn combinations of the 6/49 or not?
there are many things we can achieve from that
